Hmm, okay i think most of us here just happen to at least encounter our office mates covering our work for the day when we are on leave to call us for additional information.
Don't you agree that why of all times that we go to work, issues happen when we are on leave!?!
haha do you feel irritated by this, or do you feel that it is just okay to answer the call and help your officemate?
For me, i really do not mind. sometimes i would even log remotely to see it for my self.:D Just to help out afterall, i know they will not call if they really knew how to handle it.

Usually, I don't have anyone to back me up so my vacations are not always approved. If ever it is approved, it is an obligation for me to be on-call or to answer phone calls. Do I like it? I don't like it so I put an effort to leave things in order, send emails on information they might need, inform my customers/coworkers I'm on leave, schedule my vacation on days of least inconvenience at work. That way, I only receive a few calls, sometimes none.

when i'm off work, i don't want to be bugged about office stuff. i think my office mates feel the same thing cause we actually have this agreement not to bother anyone on leave, except on grave situations. i try to not talk about work when i'm at home. that way i get to focus on personal stuff and i'm sure i can always relax at home no matter how toxic my day in the office was.

Isn't there a supervisor or someone else that your officemate could call? I feel like the same thing happens to me, actually, though! I feel like when I get off of work, and someone else is working at my store, I usually get about 2 phone calls per shift (that they are working) with questions or some kind of situation. I don't really mind, but when it becomes to be a regular thing, it can get a little irritating sometimes to be "on call" for questions even though you aren't getting paid for it. I'd like to leave WORK at WORK, but somehow it always finds it's way home with me! Urgh!

I get mad when the person that will be covering for me does not pay enough attention to what I give them before I go on vacation. I usually put any issues in a log with a small note on what is going on. In those cases, where I know they are not paying attention - I do not answer my phone! Why should I ruin my vacation because they did not pay attention?
If, on the other hand, they do pay attention - are involved and ask question - then I will answer the calls. I have a blackberry so I still get the emails, so I can see what the problem is from where ever I am. Many times it can wait til I get back for resolution.

I have experienced this many time already, not just when im on leave but even when i have my day offs.. I get easily irritated when im into something like relaxing or having fun..other than that it's ok if they would call. Not only will they ask for further infos during the day, but they would actually text you even at nights..hmmmp! Hate it..but as what you have said, they won't be calling you if they know what they will be doing or able to handle it. You're just the only one who knows everything about your work so lets just be open to this if this ever happens..

Well i don't mind if she calls me when on leave. We cannot expect them to know everything about our work because its was assigned to you. And he just trying to make up for the work that we have left. But one time, we got a surprise visit from the BIR and when i get back from my vacation. I have the list of penalties to settle. HAHAHA. Anyways its all settled now.
