Have you noticed those posts or replies to posts of your friends which says click the link so you can properly see the emoticon? Did you click the link? Okay, so I did because I've been intrigued since I've seen a lot of that already.. It will immediately ask you to download so you can see the smileys or emoticons so I still did it - downloaded it. When I checked what happened to my Facebook profile, there it is already, you can see those cute emoticons and you can use it already. You can view those emoticons properly and you can add it when you make a post or reply to your friends' posts. The things I hate that came with it? It changed my default homepage without asking me and it installed a search bar without asking me too.. :( I wonder what else will it do? When I uninstalled that Bandoo smileys, I've seen that it ate up more than 100mb. I wouldn't have mind if it wasn't populating my toolbars and bookmarks.. Have you downloaded this too? And were you happy with it?

Hi ellyse! Thanks for acknowledging that the topic was helpful. Some things disguised as gifts and even neatly wrapped are sometimes no gift at all. :)

That was really my intention of posting this - to warn people of their hidden agenda. Glad to be of help. :)

Me, too. I was about to ask mylotters how to attach smileys in my posts when I saw your discussion. So...lucky for me, too. Thanks.

Yes, i did! I was a bit curious and find it cute so i tried and tested it. It did upset me because it was added automatically in the toolbar. Which really s*cks because even when i chat on yahoo messenger and type the word ok, an emoticon would be displayed automatically on it. not the small type of ok emoticon or smiley what ever you call that bandoo thing, but a bigger one. Which is a bit distracting to the one you are chatting with. Good thing my deep freeze is on so i restarted my pc and im free of the hassle it gave me now.

Hi gaiza! Exactly - it was upsetting! We didn't sign up for those pop ups and tool bars, did we? :) I guess, I was also at fault because I didn't read everything on the agreement before downloading it..Did you read the terms before the download?

Hi Anurag! Thanks for agreeing with me. I do agree with you too that the emoticons are very interesting and beautiful and that adding those to tour message will add beauty to it.. :) It's just that it seems to me they're operating like a Mafia..:) Putting other things without asking permission, that's just totally wrong!

Oh, I am an illitearte in technology like I fond of saying it here. So, I play safe and did not download anything unless it was given to me already downloaded and free.

Hi jennyze! Good for you, I guess..:) I mean that's an advantage I can see. Your computer will be virus free, if not, then the virus will be only minimal. :) It's quite a hassle when unwanted things keep popping up.

It sort of is a hard lesson to learn after doing so. A long time ago I use to download these cutesy things to find my computer erratic back then. As I believe the makers of these applications market them free but naturally they come some form of strings attached, such as you said tool bars and changing of default pages. So anytime I am intrigued by downloading any form of application I try to read the terms and agreements, and if I find they are going to add or change any settings I quickly change my mind.

Hi hardworkinggurl! It certainly has strings attached to it. :) Can't have a good thing free these days. They giveth but they also taketh! I should have known better. The terms and agreements are quite long more often than not. I'll try to read everything though before I'll download something the next time. I doubt if they'll include what they'll want from you in return.. :)
