No doubt in it that internet has become a very important aspect of our life. It stands useful in all parts of our work. But do we realize that we have become addicted to it. I mean we use this facility for every single purpose. I mean, using it as a tool is a very good thing but, getting addicted to anything is a good idea I guess. I feel we should also have the knowledge of other things, from where good information could be obtained, etc. What is your say.

I think that a lot of people are actually addicted to the internet without really knowing that they are. Many people will sit online all day, sometimes having meals at their desks as well just so that they can spend more time online. For me, my job is online, so I can never really get away from the internet. I get paid for writing articles, and have just secured another job with a better company than before which means that I'm earning even more. But with the money also means that I have to spend even more time on the internet.
The thing that we need to beware of is what we do which is nothing to do with our work. If we're finding that we're online all day not really doing anything useful, then chances are we are addicted to it. It's important to have other hobbies as well as the internet.

Ya, I consider myself to be addicted to internet. I just roam on internet most of my time without no reason. I just keep checking my mails, facebook, orkut and other money making sites I work on. Internet is actually informative and useful but it is addictive too.

You are absolutely right ever since I got my internet connection I become addicted to it and almost most of the time I rely on my internet. There are times that I got disconnection notice because I haven't paid my bills for almost 3 months because I don't actually have a job during that time my partner is the one who is paying all this bills and he is also having trouble where to get a money for our bills and other payments he even asked me to just let go of the internet but I can't I need it so we did our best to pay the bills to keep our connection. There are lot of things that I would loose if I loose my internet too and that includes all my online earnings.

I would have to say it's a yes. Internet has become part of our lives now. Whenever we switch on out computer, the very first thing we do is either logging in to our facebook account or be checking our emails. Once we are done with it, it's surfing time. For those onto online earnings, we will be off to our respective activities.
As such, there won't be a time where we are not using the Internet at all. It's becoming so important that we have taken it for granted. If there's no Internet, majority of people will be at a loss as they won't have alternative to searching for information.

yes ,I agree with you so much .i'm worried about some teens ,they alway play computer games the moment they have some time , by some computer games ,they don't devote themselves to study.
of cours ,some adults also cann't control themselves to play computer.if it is necessary for our work ,we also have to do that ,but we should't become addicted to it .we should use it fully to serve for us .

It's funny that you should ask this because my husband and I were discussing this very thing just today. I think the internet is one of the greatest things to come around in my lifetime, and I can't imagine living without it. However, I do think that many of us are addicted to it, in the sense of spending too much time online and not connecting to our families like we were before.

I am not addicted to the internet, but I do use it to make money because I need the money. I have earned a lot of money here on mylot and on other web sites, and it serves as a pretty decent income.

I don't really consider myself addicted using internet, it is just that my way of earning is through internet. Most of the time I'm using the net is when I'm working or socializing like here in mylot. If not the nature of my work I would not use the net nor my pc seven days a week.

I'm not saying myself addicted, but I feel dependent on the internet, If I'm looking for information about something, I always open the internet. When I want to search for recipes, I opened the Internet. When I want to look for additional income, I opened the internet, perhaps the word addiction is not right for me, but I feel dependent on the Internet.

Hi kartiknaiduk,
Absolutely, we, young and old alike, have become addicted to the internet. We are not just addicted to the internet, but mostly to every modern convenience that man has created.
How many of us walk to even the shortest locations anymore? Not too many. When we have to go someplace, we grab the keys to the car and off we go driving for five minutes to the store. The cellphone has come in to our lives and has left us with no downtime. We are never disconnected from contacts. We walk, talk, drive, work, eat, sleep, etc. with our cellphones.
Addictions are personal habits that we have let get way out of control. Now, because they are out of control, we can't fix most of them without some kind of professional assistance. Some of us don't want to be cured of our addictions that make us feel good or important.
Not only are the older, suppose to be, responsible adults are addicted to these modern technological devices, we are assisting our young people in becoming addicted as well. Every new gadget that come out in the marketplace, the child wants, the child gets.
With all the available gadgets, when does ones brain shut down? When does ones body get enough rest? Something to think about.

Honestly saying, majority of the people all around the world are depending there lives to the computer. Especially, in working with the compnay no matter what type it is, all of them use the computer to input information. also we use computer in our daily lives, like communicating, socializing and even shopping. It keeps us updated on what's happening around and no need to watch tv to know the current events.

I think that the fact that our current generation has become addicted to the internet very true indeed.People in this generation grew up using computers and the net and they are very used to using it to the point that they can hardly function without it.I think that people need to pull themself away for a while and try living like previous folks did before all this computer stuff came around , then they will appricate all the modern conviences that they have at their disposal.

I think there are some people who are indeed addicted to the internet, yeah. I think even certain surveys show this. And that is definitely not a good thing. But luckily, I think it is still fairly uncommon, so it is not a huge problem yet, but it might be in the future to be honest!

Now-a-days internet is one of the most important way of communication. Genrally, the new generation got addicted to internet because of its usefullness in their daily life. Nobody want to get addicted but the exitement using the net makes people addicted.
