I am undergoing a great deal of stress the entire year. I jump on my stationary bike, which is really not stationary though. It has a console on it, with Jillian Michaels voice. Her voice controls the peddles, so there is not cheating.
I love telling my story by the way. I was not overweight when I bought it last October. She recommends you use 1/2 hours 7 days a week, so I watch TV or you can plug in your i pod or play games on the console.
So I began doing it for one hour for 5 days. You will be surprised while watching TV how fast that goes. In 4 1/2 months, I was eating 4 -5 times a day and for the first time drinking water. I drink almost a gallon a day. I am happy to tell you that I lost 60 pounds and am the healthiest and skinniest I have ever been. Now I only use it 1/2 for 3 days for cardio.
So what you have to do is firstly, feel good about yourself, say to yourself daily that you are doing this for you and you only. Then start eating sensibly, believe me I use to be on a roller coaster dieting and starvation. So when I tell you, you have to eat, you must.
Drink lots of water and do this no matter what plan a half hour every day, doing something even if it is walking you will be surprised how fast time flies, provided you are doing something at the same time. So it does not become a chore.
I am attaching my best friend for you to see.
I hope my lengthy story gives you some motivation, as that really all it takes. Good luck to you. Get back in shape but for you!!

Wish you all the best. Although my world is sort of upside down right now it certainly helps to be optimistic and feel great.

I know whatcha mean. I'm going through a similar thing. I know I'm still young, but I really should be doing some type of exercise. I bought a yoga DVD and did it twice but then stopped due to lack of motivation I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking I might start riding the stationary bike and type on mylot from my iPod touch at the same time!

That sounds like a good idea !! I thought about taking my computer in by by treadmill and playing some motivational show while working out but wouldn't even know where to find something that would motivate me in that way.

The best way is to start walking. Just walk. It doesn't matter where you walk to or how long you walk, but just walk. Another thing is if you have the "Fit" channel, try mimicking some of the moves if you can. Dancing works too. I dance every now and then.

The most important thing is never feel ashamed of what you are. The second key, never see a work out as a burden, but something that you enjoy doing. The more you enjoy doing something, the more success rate you will achieve. Relax and be happy on your work out!

Thank you !! That makes sense. I use to be a city mail carrier and walked 7 miles a day and felt sooo good but I got transfered to rural carrier about 7 years ago and since then have put on 30 lbs and feel absolutely disgusting. It is sad when I am so ashamed of myself and then can't seem to get motivated to do anything about it.

Self Discipline is the key to motivate our self in the things we want to do. Here are some tips that I will post to help for your motivation.
1.Make a list of your reason for fat loss - You will focus on your target if you make a list of why you want to lost weight. Write your list and stick it on your mirror or wall. Read it when you wake up in the morning, before meals, especially when being on a diet or exercising being harder for you.
2. Set your goals for weight loss and be realistic when you are doing this - Take a paper and right your current weight and your target weight and determine dates.
3. Reading success stories of other people who have lost weight will help you to decide, to determine goals and to be passionate about your goals.
4. Think how your appearance will be after you get your results and concentrate on your diet and exercise when you sink into pessimism or get bored. This will help you to continue your plan and make you more positive when you imagine yourself more beautiful, attractive and fit.
To win the battles against body fat, you can apply those tips into your lifestyle. hope it can help you...Happy mylotting..

howdy angel! its really hard to go on with what we are doing if there is no burning spirit inside. uhm, im still a student annd now i'm working at it also. evrytime that i feel like stopping, i just think that something in end is worth the effort. i always bear in my mind that in all that i do, i will always wear my nicest smile to brighten any loads of my day. i just think that i'm just so blessed to be here today. and to motivate myself also everyday, i paste something in my mirror to read it everyday, it says, "KEEP THE FIRE BURNING and KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE." :)

My days at work are pretty long each day. So, by the time I am back home, I am pretty exhautsed. Yet, I know that I need to have some excersizing to refresh and keep healthy. That's the thought that keeps me motivated to go out to the park and do some jogging. Yes, indeed, after about 30 minutes jogging, I feel very refreshed and relaxed.

Same here! I am just lazy. I want to loose weight but when I think about doing it, I just want to do something instead lol. I am not overweight but I gained a little. If you get motivated easily, how about starting little by little? I started by changing my eating habit. Instead of eating with gluttony, i eat only when I am hungry. So far, I reduced the amount of food I eat by half. I stopped drinking soft drinks for a few months now and i don't miss them at all. I just drink 1 cup of milk a day and alot of water. Stopped eating junk snacks and replaced them by fruits. Just by doing that, I noticed that my stomach is less swollen. I started to use the stairs a few days ago instead of taking the elevator and the mechanical stairs. I felt that my thighs were burning alot so it's an indication that i don't do enough exercise. Now that i have printed my classnotes, I am going to read them and exercise on the stepmachine...right now! I feel the motivation now :) goodluck!

I think it's different for everyone but I personally like to exercise! I think that this is great for the body and it also helps the mind. So, what gives me the motivation to exercise in the first place? Well, I notice that my body is suddenly going downhill, I may put on a little weight around the waist and I can clearly see this and this kind of forces me to make a decision and then take positive action.
I think that coaching tapes can be very helpful, I don't know if you've listened to those in the past but I have coaching tapes by Anthony Robbins, he's an American life coach and it's nice to just listen to his voice from time to time, he kind of keeps me in the right frame of mind. It's been a few days now that I have gone without listening to him and I notice that I'm then slowly sidetracked! Things are ok otherwise.
When you are working I know that it can be difficult to become motivated as you feel tired and just want to put your feet up and relax. I think that even ten minutes of exercise is sufficient, it all builds up over time. Anyway, good luck and listen to a positive tape or something, it will help put you in the right frame of mind. Can you get up a bit earlier and do your training first thing? Anything important should be done first.
Can you walk to work? Walking is the best exercise anyone can do.
Can you walk at lunch time? Can you walk home?
Can you enlist the aid of another family member? It's always more fun when one has a partner.

Find some friends to walk with. Start out easy, then slowly add jogging for a block in. I make a Bingo board with specific tasks. When I complete a task, i mark off the box. When i have covered the whole board, i go out to a movie, or something like that.
