Human as we are we commit mistakes and failures in life. We are not so really perfect in doing some things to some degree. Even our parents they have lapses in their duty to their children and we all know that from the experience whether it is on our own experience or we just heard from others.
Moreover, I almost observed that people have a reverence to the church leaders most especially to a priest. I heard of one priest who is so corrupt. He used the money entrusted to him by the parishioners only for his own good and not minding the intention and purpose of the money. Others trust to priest during the confession when they told their sins and mistakes in life. Are you not ashamed when you tell that to someone who is human? I mean, do you trust a priest?

I know that there are some priest that are good, and that can be trusted, but the vast majority of them cannot be trusted, and they make plenty of mistakes. There is a lot of corruption in the church. I saw a priest throw my choir director to the ground. After that incident, I had to leave the church. Until the church changes their ways, and under this Pope I don't think that they will, I cannot be a part of the Catholic Church. I wouldn't trust a priest until he has proven that he has earned that trust.

That matter should not be practice if people read the bible. Because the holy scripture or God, prohibit that practice. As bible says that only God, will do that things not human...
Maybe we can ask forgiveness to people that we are committing mistakes. But to ask forgiveness with God. We should directly ask his forgiveness through prayers not to say to the priest and the priest, will mediate to our God, to forgive our sin.
They are also a human that committing a mistake. God, did not give them the authority to forgive our sin. Unless we are committing mistake unto them...
I am saying this, because I read the bible and I can't find any commandment or authority that give to these people to forgive our sin to the Lord...
I may trust to the priest not on the divine standing and belief. But I trust them as a human...a person that is regularly does what ordinary man, can do. Not to trust them in forgiving sins, for the divine purpose. Because they do not have the authority to do so given by God...
Have a great day!

I trust people regardless of their job. In your case, you shouldn't trust that priest anymore. If a person is a priest, it doesn't mean he's trustworthy. It only means that he conducts masses every sunday.

in my opinion, well priest really do have a lot of knowledge about religion...but in my case i didnt give a 100% trust to priest because they are just also humans that are imperfect....they will also commit mistakes, that sometimes they make a hiding place with their position as priest....

Every person is not the same and neither is every priest, it is there duty to be trustful, but it is also the duty of ever other human, sometimes people do not fufill there duties no matter their position. That is why forgiveness is such a big part of everyday life
