So my morning routine is now this, pull up in front of the elementary school and drop off the twins, then drop Dearra at high school. She has a long wait, because classes don't start until 8:25, but hey, I have to get to work.
The elementary school has these kids in orange vests, PLH (parking lot helpers ?) who wave the cars on through, and open and close doors. So today I pull up, automatically open the door as usual, but just then one of the PLHs opens Dearra's door.
She starts laughing and says, "no, this is so long ago," and closes the door. Naomi gets out the back door and says, "come with me Dearra, less homework." Dearra gets this 'light bulb' look on her face and says, "take me with you", and starts laughing hysterically... The PLH laughed too.
And we laughed hysterically all the way out of the parking lot...
Happy Friday!

Hi Gabs, Dawn...that was my thought too Gabs. Laughing heartily at the beginning of the day pretty much sets the seal for me and I know that the rest of the day will go well.
Half your luck kiddo, enjoy them while you can because they will soon be grown up and mostly gone; that's when the fun really starts.

Sounds like fun. shoot nowadays seems the little kids have ton of homework too. I know my little sister has homework that keeps her up past her bed time sometimes trying to get it done. I think her school tries to scram a weeks worth in one day..you and your kids sound like you have tons of fun. I sincerely wished I could have a relationship like that with my mom...sadly I hung up on my mom today because I felt an argument coming on and didn't want to fight with her..

Wow - what service they give at the school to open car doors . . . do you have to tip? It must be so cool as a mom to sit back and listen to your kids converse - better yet when they make hysterical remarks to each other and you can all laugh!! Ahh, I look forward to this!!! Your kids have a great sense of humor!

Well, I am sure there are many of us who would Love to go back to the early school years and forget about bills, jobs, etc. but then if we could remember all of that until now we would be better off for sure. But this is quite interesting way to start your day and one to cherish for a while.

We were "Kiwanis Junior Police" but we never opened doors. It is a good thing to start the day laughing.

Yup. I got her earlier too. I reminded her of the time she heard us talking about her, and she started hollering at us that "you think I'm going to yell at you". She was yelling at us that she wasn't going to yell. She didn't think it was funny at the time, but today she laughed.

What a lovely way to start a Friday, nothing like a good laugh first thing in the morning! I like the idea of the PHP; we don’t have anything like that here, fancy getting your door opened for you, it sounds like a valet service! I can see Dearra’s point, my daughter is still in primary school and the work is so much less than the lot high school teachers dish out! Hope the rest of the day went just as well…

Oh mom... Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom... You got that SOO wrong. Heehee.
Well, I didn't say, "No, this is so long ago," I laughed and THEN said, "No that was a long time ago." Then Naomi said, "Okay, but, we get less homework." Then I was frozen for a second or two and freaked out and said, "NOO! TAKE ME WITH YOU, I DIDN'T MEAN IT!!" (Or something along those lines...)
That's what REALLY happened.
Well anyways, yeah, that was pretty dang funny. I give the credit of it to Naomi though, she was the one who came up with that witty remark about having less homework.

Hey, go back to your own discussions and reply back to the nice people and then you can criticize mine.
