Trust defined in the following ways:
Letting others know your feelings, emotions and reactions and having the confidence in them to respect you and to not take advantage of you.
Sharing your inner feelings and thoughts with others with the belief that they will not spread them indiscriminately.
Placing confidence in others so that they will be supportive and reinforcing of you, even if you let down your mask and show your weaknesses.
Assuming that others will not intentionally hurt or abuse you if you should make an error or a mistake. The inner sense of acceptance you have of others with whom you are able to share secrets, knowing they are safe.
The ability to let others into your life so that they can create a relationship built on an understanding of mutual respect, caring and concern to assist one another in growing and maturing independently.
Opening yourself to let others in on your backgrounds, problems, concerns and mistakes with the assurance that they will not ostracize you because of these things...

You know Lien a few years ago I would've replied that you were wrong and that the negativity is misplaced. But NOW, I agree completely! There isnt any reason I put that much trust in anyone. Not even family. I do trust my daughters completely but I also dont divulge personal information that would put them in any position to be not trusted. I think that if we keep our personal stuff to ourselves, trust isnt a big issue. Its true in this day and age most people smile in your face while they're stabbing you in the back. I dont understand how it got this bad. There are very few people I trust with my life. That's sad. dl
