Why do some ladies hide their age from others?

i do not hide my age. i had encountered those women, too, in my work. i was telling the article to a colleague with the title 'So What If I am Forty?' and they reacted. ha ha

Hi, Maybe they are just ashamed to reveal how old they are already.Some girls are like that and i also dont understand why they need to hide their real age to others.I know some girls who are like that and doesnt want to reveal their real age.

I grew up in the era where it was considered bad manners to ask a woman's age. There was an old saying that a lady never reveals her age. Women always seem to want to look and feel young. For men it seems different. An "older man" is attractive some think. Also why is it that so many older men want to be with young women under 40?

Because it's nobody's business? And no, I don't. But if somebody doesn't want to share their age, I respect that.

As guys, it has always been drilled into our consciousness not to ask ladies about their ages. I guess this adds to the confusion. But I also think that this 'mis-information' are created by the guys. When they start looking to and marrying young women, they/we create misconception that younger is better. Thus almost all women hang on to their youth, if they ever want to find their 'man'.

I think they might have afraid of the Guys that they will stop to stare at them

most women want to be thought of as younger than they are, it never bothered me too much, but I'm kind of odd, besides until recently, they thought I was younger than I am...

i dont know ladies that hides their ages. mostly pf the ladies that me and my wife know, are ladies that are younger looking than their age. so they are proud to say that they are 40 when they only look like 30 har har har. my wife is 40 too and most of the people we know says she is younger looking. well i dont know if that is just a joke or the truth but for me she does look younger than 40. maybe 39 har har har.

maybe they are think they having the look which is younger than their actual age? but i think is better tell frankly and be a honest people.

I see absolutely no reason that I woman should hide their age from the general public. The reason that I don't think that this is ever a necessary measure is because of the fact that we should be proud of our age and of the things that we've been able to accomplish in our lives. However, I think that the reason that women do hide their age is because of the fact some people will look down on women based on their ages.

I am a week short of 42 - and proud of it - hee hee! I always tell my true age - I have no reason to hide it - but no one believes me anyway (fortunately!). I think some women take the numbers seriously. They dread the milestone years - thinking they're another decade older (well, they are .. . that's just reality!). I say you're as old as you feel . . . who cares about the numbers.

hello kaka135! i guess it has something to do with the way we view women who are older. I mean, a man's value sort of increase as he matures or age while women decreases with age. that's why many keeps their age a secret. there are men who would enter into relationships with women they thought are younger but they fled after knowing that such women are in fact way too old for their taste. for myself, i even add a few years to my age when asked and i love seeing people's surprised faces upon hearing my exact age since i look far younger than my actual age. it's better that way than being asked, "really? is that your real age? i thought you're older", lol. that would really make anyone's day.

no i never like hide my age from others...... what is the need of doing such things.... it think nowadays men also started hiding their age......... i don't know why they are doing like this.... what is the benefit that they getting by doing this.... i don't think that this is a good thing to hide our age from others.....

i dont hide it because age only number,and girls sometimes hide their age because they are shy or dont want to show it to others because there's sime reason,,and every girl is different too..

According to me they hide there ages because these girls always thinks that hiding there age will boost up there confidence in life.

Ladies? I know 2 guys who refuse to tell their age.. I know no women who actually hide their age like these 2 MALE friends of mine.. I don't have an answer as to why. I think they are afraid of growing old.

I am not sure why some women do that. As for me, I don't hide my age. Whenever someone asks me how old I am I'm not ashamed to tell them my age. In fact some of them are even surprised that I'm older than I look. They always say I look younger than my age.

Some female dont want others to tell about their ages even they dont want to let everyone know their ages.If you are female,I am sure you will understand the reasons easily.If not,you maybe will fell puzzle. You know each woman hope herself beautiful and young forever,because the beauty and youth can let her have happiness and lucky.Do you find that most of them are single who maybe hard work and successfu or they have a high record of formal schooling even they are studying now .They want to hide their ages because they are worried about the men will feel them is not enough young at the first sign ,especially the woman has a good impression to the man and want to make friends with him.By the way,the traditional ideas have some influence .In my countryside ,the people think a woman must get married when she is less than 3o years old. In a world,we must understand them .

Maybe it just the girly thing. Always want to keep their age a secret. If we ask a girl their age, they reluctant to tell the truth and most of the time they just ask us to quess. Hello!!! If I want to quess I won't ask you. Anyway, what point we want to keep our age a secret anyway.

I guess, women just dont want to get old, even if they dont appear their real age
