Good Day, while I'm surfing in the internet a found out some people, saying different things about the illegal immigrants, that way I want to start a discussion here about them. Are they really harmful to our society, they just to want have better lives. Some people saying that they are harmful because some immigrants turns to be a criminal fleeing on their own coutry, while the other said that they just trying to give their family a better life even it cause their own safety. How about you, what do you think of them?

I think most of those illegal immigrants just want to have a better life. There's both good and bad sides to having illegal immigrants, the bad is that they take away the jobs that could have been given to a citizen of that country on the other hand being illegals can be hard since you will be prone to exploitation and you can't don anything about it.

well, they can be criticized but discrimination is another thing.besides, not all of them are bad people. most of my relatives are there. but they never broke the law and never went there as illegals, they had papers/

We can't really take it against the natural born to discriminate against the immigrants since they are competing in the same job. Not unless you are there to do a job the natural citizens won't even take a look at. There's equality as far as every law is concerned but in reality it's not, because we're talking here of survival. In the end it would boil down to ones qualification, most of the employers would look at your qualification, as long as your a legal resident it doesn't matter whether you're a natural born or a naturalized one. The job goes to those who can contribute more to the company. after all, it's just business. But it's another thing about illegals, they don't only take jobs away from those who have the right to it but then again it depends on whose side of the fence you're in. Both have a positive and negative side to it. But the word illegal sums it all up. they may have all the right intentions but it still won't justify the fact they violated the law.

Illegal Immigrants are not always harmful to society . Most want a better life and will contribute positively to a country economy . They fill the workforce for countries . If they enter to commit crime then it will become negative .

Hello peykat,
I am on the side of the Illegal Immigrants only quest is for good and better life. i believe those who don't follow the law and do their "thing" in other countries that they immigrate to is completely absurd and disrespect.
Of course, on their own perspective, Immigrants steal jobs that is supposed to be for them. some how i wonder, what is the situation on which to chose between an illegal immigrant and a citizen. probably some just wanted to save money that they choose the illegals. those kinds of business are the ones needed to be scrutenize and arrested.

There is bad side and good side of this discussion I guess. I knew some people came here from thousand miles away, cross the river, and desert to seek a better lives, and to help out their family back home. It is understandable. For others, they would ignore the local laws, and cause harm to other innocent people. So, it is a dilemma decision to make though.

It is a mixed feeling for me. After I saw a documentary film, I feel that they are escape their own home land just seeking for better life. They risk everything and just come to the United States for a mere food and shelter.
While not long ago, I had car accident due to some illegal immigrants driving car while a driver's license. They afraid the responsibility of it, they fled the scene, and I got no pay from him. That is sucks, and I really want to kick them out of the country at the moment. So, it is bad and sympathy feelings at the same time.

First of all, they are called illegal because they come here without going through the legal way. Second, they take jobs away from Americans saying we won't do it. I worked at one of those jobs for 4 years! Third, they steal out ID to take those jobs. Some may not do these things but the fact they are here without papers make them criminals.

I think it's a complicated issue.
There are many reasons why people choose to be illegal immigrants. Some of them aren't even classified as illegal immigrants, but political refugees. Malaysia, for instance, does not recognise refugees but instead calls them illegal immigrants.
In most cases, illegal immigrants just want to have a better life. There are those who cause nothing but trouble, but those are in the minority. I would say try to understand their point of view before you condemn them, cause they are only trying to survive after all.

Hi Peykat,
Why should we, the melting pot of Americans, hate the illegal Immigrants. I know that everyone who is an illegal immigrants is not a good person. Among those people, there are law abiding people and some criminals as well. We cannot judge those people who are living a life of poverty. Most of them probably just want what we all want, a safe place to call home.
Unfortunately, they are going about found a new and safer place to call home, the wrong way. I don't know about the rules about leaving the country they live in, but many of them feel that escaping illegally is their only way out.
Even though I understand their plight, I don't understand doing it the illegally way. However, I don't hate them.

Well, I understand the reasons why they might want to come into this country. For a chance to better themselves. I really can't fault them on that account. I don't fault them for coming over here. However, I have a big problem with them coming over here illegally. I'm sure if the situation was reversed and they were in there country and I came in there illegally, they would not be too fond of me either.
There are legal channels but people just don't use them I guess for whatever reason. It is rather sad that people get over here illegally. Unfortunately, there are rather few situations in there. Still there should be something to tighten up the boarders. After all, if someone who is harmless can enter the country, what is to stop someone who is willing to do the country harm to sneak in here and cause trouble?

Illegal immigrants are in no position to access quality jobs and education and are highly disadvantage because they will have to work for long hours earning very low wages. The poor wages of illegal immigrants cause them to turn to criminal activities to suffice their taste and lifestyles.

There are several reasons why people became illegal immigrants of another country. One reason is that the expenses on immigration is high and they don't have enough money to pay for it. And in the end they opt to undergo some illegal process. For me we just have to understand them and not judge them accordingly. Not all illegal immigrants are bad and criminals. There maybe some but this is an isolated cases.

Illegal immigrants are really not good for the economy. That is why they are called "ILLEGAL". But to discriminate them or hate them is not humane. In the first place you now that they came just to earn and have a better life. I don't think there is nothing wrong about this. We all dream of a better life.

Illegal immigrants are, indeed, braking the law, only by staying in a certain country. But, on the another hand, most of them go there in order to work, earn money and support their families, or sometimes even for avoiding certain abuses caused by being a citizen of some countries.
Just the fact that some immigrants turn out to be criminal or outlaws, that has nothing to do with their relocation. Criminals exist in all countries, can very well be found in case of legal immigrants or citizens.
I disagree with illegally immigrating, but for some of them this is a necessity and as long as they work and produce, their new home country should show some tolerance and respect. It's a known fact that a lot of immigrants have actually helped improving some countries' economies, by participating as a powerful working hand.

I sort of understand them. Yes what they did was against the rules (or law probs) but then they have their valid reasons. Lets say you're from a rich family and it turns out that a person that works for you had an illegal visa or whatever else they call it, they ain't criminals right, they want income. Also, not everyone who is like that is running away from some crime or serious wrongdoing. This also applies to those who are 'immigrants'.

so far, most illegal immigrants was bringing dilemma in a certain country...but there are some who are just looking for a better place to live in.... in my part, i think illegal immigrants should not be tolerated, because even though they are not harming ones country, but they are still outlaws that should be punished...
