Do you like to eat the same food during lunch and supper?

I am finicky at times. The palate does not cooperate, too. It wants variety.
When hubby cooks food, sometimes he cooks a lot enough from lunch until supper. For him, it would save time and money. But I disagree at times though most of the time I do not in fear that I can have no food to eat when I come home. I believe that we can still save and have variety at the same time. The food can be preserved in the fridge and be eaten the following day.
Are you okay eating the same food during lunch and supper?

i do eat the same food during lunch time and supper sometimes. because usually, we don't consume all the food cooked for lunch time so the practical way to do is eat it at supper than let it spoil or let your cat eat it.
but we are often doing this and i'm kinda getting sick of the food when supper comes. i only eat a little during supper because of this.

Sometimes if something is really good I will eat it for lunch and then also for supper. Usually, when I cook something I make a little more than I can eat at one meal and eat it for lunch two or three days in a row. Like yesterday I made some soup (it was really good too!!) and I ate a bowl of it for lunch and put the rest in the fridge to eat today for lunch. I usually make a pretty good size pan of soups so I can eat it for a few days. But I generally have something else for the other meals that day!

sometimes i find myself eating the same for lunch and for supper and that is if i have no choice. but to eat the same food for 3 days continuous, oh my, i cannot do that! it is okay with soup because you can partner it with other food but the others, i can not do it!

i don't mind having the same food for both lunch and supper. but i do think the next day meal should be different already. or, if there's still some leftover from the previous meals, i try to cook it in a different way, so i'll have a little variety, lol. i don't like to waste food. when i know i'm gonna be eating alone for a few days, i try to cook enough that will save me on gas, time, effort, and plates, pot, and pan to wash, especially when i know ill be busy on something else. but i also consider budget and my palate's craving also, lol.

No I have to have something different, I can not have the same thing at lunch and dinner, I can take left overs to work for lunch that I made for dinner but does that make sense?

My household practices this method. Usually, the cooking part is done for the lunch becuase some of the members of my household likes to eat brunch. Any left-overs would be eaten for dinner. This applies both to rice and vayant. My reasoning is the same as your husband, however there are times when we disregard the vayant and buy or cook another one for the sake of the palate. Sometimes, I abandon this practice especially if the food stays too long in the fridge and nobody know how long it has stayed there. I guess it depends on the occasions and the mood of the household.

Yes. I am okay with eating the same food during lunch and supper. But I can't eat the same food everyday. But of course, there are also times when I want to have variety whenever I feel sick. :-)

It depends on what food it is and my mood. If it's something i love I can eat it for a long time until I get sick of it, but it depends. I agree that you can save by making less amounts.. because if there is so much left overs, you might have to end up throwing it away.

Good day to you bingskee,
Actually, for me its not healthy to eat same food for lunch and supper. However, since we need to save a lot now a days, maybe, we can still eat the same type of food that we have during lunch and again to be serve for dinner.
With regard to this, I think, we should consider an another way on how to serve the food especially if that food has been served twice which is lunch and dinner. Innovation and creativity are some characteristics that we must have.
Innovation in the sense, maybe we can develop a new dish that has been served previously, like, if you are familiar with the food sweet & sour, the main ingredient of that is the fish, wherein, the fish can be taken out from the sweet & sour for frying. For this reason, it will create a new dish but you need not to buy a new one since the fried fish was came from the previous dish which is the sweet & sour.
With the above, we can still have the same menu that has been served and eaten during lunch and hence, we can create a new dish out from the previous one.
Have a nice day.
Bon Appetit!

No usually, I am like you in this respect. I like lunch then something different for dinner. Sort of livens up the stresses of the day.
I do not mind eating left overs the next day or so. But I like knowing that something even greater is coming for dinner.

I'm probably like your hubby. Since I'm the one who cooks at home, sometimes I don't want to thinking about what to cook twice in a day. So I cook before lunch enough food until supper. It saves me energy and also gas. And I will only wash pots and pans once so that saves me water, too. If it's necessary, I will also defrost food once. I can do something else in the afternoon instead of cooking again.

I don't like to eat the same food at lunch and dinner. If I eat a food at lunch and have enough for later, I will either eat it for lunch or supper the next day but not that day. I would be bored eating the same food twice in one day.

i do, specially if it's my dad who cooked the dish :) i had a really big smile when i saw this discussion because days ago, my dad cooked binagoongan. well sorry it's a filipino dish some might not know of it. so anyway, we had it one dinner but since i really liked it, i had to eat it like 5 meals after that dinner even if we have new dish every time we eat. so imagine dinner tonight, then lunch the next day, dinner, and another lunch and dinner i was eating the same food every time. i got mad at my sister when she threw the leftover away. i told her i was supposed to have a take 6 of that food! haha. just reminded me of last night.

actually i think your right on saving time by cooking meal for lunch and dinner but dont you get sick because you eat the same thing from lunch to dinner? my opinion is that let hubby cook different dishes at a time, but dont make too much on individual ones make it balanced and you could enjoy the first 2 dishes during lunch(if u cooked 4 dishes) and you could finish the other two during dinner!

Nope, except if the food is my favorites and their is no new cook food as long as they are spoil that is one way to be thrifty so I would still eat but eating the same food could be boring. So as much as possible i long to eat new fresh cook food that is way to keep healthy and getting nutritious meal everyday makes eating with family a whole lot of fun..

Hmm it's not good to eat supper. Well, to answer your question, same food for the meal is not for me, unless I have no choice or no mood. Yea I agree with you keeping the food overnight and have it the next day. My family always do that when the food is too much.
