How do you know Right and Wrong?

Someone say that there is no absolute outside of ourselves. There is no final authority because space, time and energy are all that is. There is no such thing as right and wrong because there is no right- and wrong-giver. What do you agree about that or not ?

God decides what it right and wrong. For instance I can also give you an example why some things are wrong. For instance, some think it is all right to take things that do not belong to you especially if the other person is rich. But what if that rich person is helping out like for instance, supporting a school in a poor country or has a business where he employs lots of people, therefore it is wrong to steal.
If it hurts someone, it is wrong. So murder, stealing, covetousness, lying is wrong. I do not say killing to defend oneself is wrong, or saying 'they are not hear,' if you are hiding people from oppression, like what went on in Nazi
Germany with the people hiding Jews who would have been sent to concentration camps and killed in horrible manners. Those are exceptions and you are doing good by preventing someone from being murdered.
But the rule set out in the Ten Commandments are good because God gave them to man so that no one would feel wronged. If you do not steal, you do not cause others pain. If you do not murder, you do not bring sorrow to the survivors. If you do not cheat with someone else's spouse, you save the other person from wondering if that child is her husband or yours, or if you are a woman, you do not worry if you got pregnant or get a disease. I could do on and on, but God made the rules for right and wrong for a reason. NOt hurting others is a good reason.

Your'e welcome. We as men (and I use that term collectively to include women) often feel that the rules have exceptions depending on the circumstances. But God knows our hearts and knows that anything that hurts another is wrong and HIS laws are so that we all can live together in harmony.

That is not true! Governments make laws and we have to obey them. Nature makes laws (gravity) and we have to adjust to them. And whether one believes or refuses to believe God is there and we will have to deal with the consequences of not taking Him into consideration. That is how I view things regardless of what otjhers want to believe.

Yes, we are happy when we have a good government and suffer under a bad one. Canada has been pretty fortunate so far.

Well, we humans know that if we kill each other, then we will be all alone, and species won't survive. If we do things that we shouldn't, and don't learn to get along with our fellow man, then we risk not surviving as well. We know right from wrong and learn right from wrong because of survival. In order to survive, we have to go by certain internal rules.

I think I understand what you are saying…...Who is to know what is a mistake? I believe that although only God can be the ultimate judge of what is right or wrong our inner voice is the indicator of what we should or should not doing so we can live the best life we can.

Only God is the ultimate judge. No human being can judge us whether we are doing the right or the wrong thing. It's just up to us if we follow our inner instincts if what we are doing or will be doing is right or wrong. And of course we have to take into consideration that what we are doing will not hurt anybody or anything..

your weird, right or wrong? what do you mean their are no right or wrong, your just confused of something. of course their are and i think you study to much. Try living in this world and you will realize the beauty of right or wrong, it make us human being, it teach us to embrace life. through wrong we learn, through right we progress, we don't know if we are right or wrong we just achieve it through experience. and now i know I'm right right? or do I owe you an apology?
