I used to write in my diary and I account there all my activities, as well as personal opinions and feelings. My diary notebook was only accessed by me so eventhough I write there very personal stuff, it was only me who could read it. I started an online blog and of course, the difference with a blog and a personal handwritten diary are numerous. For one, the online blog can be publicly viewed by anyone who has access with internet. With a handwritten diary, you can keep it safe within you and you can prevent access by anyone without your consent.
So, I guess with this online blog, I'd rather not write more personal thoughts and feelings because I feel it is reserved privately and would not wish others to read about them.
Do you blog? What do you write about? Share your thoughts..

I used to have a blog, just for fun, a few years ago, that was pretty personal, and since I am a girl, all kinds of people started commenting on my pics and stuff like that, which really made me uncomfortable. So now my blogs are all very general and I hardly write any personal stuff at all. You never know who is reading after all and there are some creeps out there, believe me! I have ran into some of them!

Oh, you're brave! I never posted pictures of myself on my blog! I did a video ONCE and then became really uncomfortable and deleted it.

At first, you kinda take it as if its really like a diary.. as for me, I also used to write details and really personal stuffs but later on, I realized that when we publish something in our blog, it just becomes a public property because anyone can read about it and even comment about what you have written. I didn't even know that there are configurations or settings there that can "privatize" any entry.

Yes, you are right. Never write things too personal in your blog because you never know who can check out your blog and what they will do with it.
I have blogs and I just post my writings on there.
I never write about my days.
My blogs only contain my writings and my thoughts of things.

The problem with any Internet journal or blog is that it's never really private. It's on the Internet. I used to keep one, but I had someone harassing me and using the information. I pretty much gave up on Facebook when someone in my family had been using it to gossip about me.
I learned the hard way to keep private things off the web. You can't trust people's discretion. Now I'd only use a paper diary.

That was harsh! Using facebook for gossip? and it turns out that it was someone from your family? OMG.. Well, online blogging or online postings have really their advantages and disadvantages. We should just be careful in whatever information we release online because you know, there are those people who have no manners and would use those infos against you. Oh and by the way, I also missed having to hand write in a journal notebook! I don't know if i still have a good penmanship anymore! LOLZ.

I maintain a few blogs. My main blog is where all my thoughts go. If I've got anything that I don't want anyone else to see, that goes into my Dreamwidth blog, with the option set to private so that only I can see the entry. I've got no qualms about writing an online journal, because there are options to set entries to private, meaning no one else but you can see them.
So you can say that my personal blog is quite personal.

I have three blogs at the moment, but none of them are what you would call personal blogs. I keep my private life private, and I'm not interested in writing about it even in a paper journal. How I feel about my writing is about as personal as I get on my blogs. I mostly write about my writing and how it's going. Right now, I'm getting ready for National Novel Writing Month, and I blog about the notes I'm making and how the story's developing.

That's awesome! I wish you good luck to this National Novel Writing.. I loved reading novels too. I am fascinated with the way my favorite novel authors put out words in creating a story.. some of my favorites are jk rowling, sidney shieldon, john grisham, mary higgins clark and judith mcnaught.

I won't write too personal things on online blog.
Because online blog for me is just for sharing my life.
For all the personal things of me, I will just tell the person that I trust..

My online journal is open to the entire internet, but I post under an alias and an anonymous name. My location is up there, but I highly doubt someone would pick me out of a city of several million, no?
I usually just write about personal stuff, things I wouldn't usually tell somebody. It's a good outlet for things I wouldn't be able to get out otherwise.

I am so awful about online blogging. I delete them like the plague. Haha. But I am pretty personal, I think, because I can stay anonymous. So it's kind of like you can get those things out you've always wanted to say and not worry about being judged- or if you are judged, who cares!? You don't know the people who are commenting.
