they say yes... ahmmm
but wait
I appreciate the various aspects presented and that too very rationally. Late Prime minister Ms Indira Gandhi has been a very good example in regard to this.
No intentions too offend but would like to put down my own perspective as an individual with the experience so far ...
- I totally disagree that women are biased towards their own gender. Infact in corporate one will find that women are least biased on all grounds, whether it be state, region, language, etc.
- I feel because of more patient and content nature of women, she might sometime drive her subordinates to be in the same line. This might make the people under her to turn more passive as far as career growth is concerned.
- I feel that women either prove to be weak decision makers or very hard decision makers. A balance decision lacks from her side because of an existing negative mindset in this male dominated society about them. They usually go very hard trying to prove themselves as no different than men. Of course there are exceptions.
Rational & Justified feedback would help me understand this thought better.

I think that men make better managers, as in overseeing people. Most women seem to gossip whether they do it on purpose or not.

Women make better managers because women are more likely to delegate and more likely to reward people. And they're getting better at doing what men traditionally have done well. Women may be getting more opportunities to lead and manage because many more are educated. That isn't the real reason women are better managers or even goo managers though. Women are finally being appreciated for their abilities to manage and lead partly due to being more educated, partly due to the appreciation of, demand for, and legal stipulations of diversifications and partly due to the fact that they have been pretty solid managers in the past; the ones that reared our children, kept our households organized and had a visions of family success in daily and future needs.

nature base, woman is the other part of a man, decision wise, woman are more careful but in other hand weaker than man (woman nature of soft hearth instinct), but situational cases, woman can be more good as leaders, as they also a good mother to manage their time to them self, husband, children and work

Really, there is a thin line separating Men and Women Managers. Men are more decisive with their decisions while Women, I think, are better motivators

I think many female manager or leader of successful women in the world, such as Indira Gandhi,Margaret Thatcher,Madeleine Albraight,Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and many others. It is a fact many women can do better and successful than men, though I was a men but I try to think objectively about a woman who has more potential than men. Gender issues have always considered that women are still under the superiority of men. But the reality proves that the skills manajerial woman is not inferior to men.

Lienrose.. I dont think it has anything to do with gender. My boss is a female. You are right that females are patient but they are truly hardworking; they are not verbal when it comes to bulky backlogs of work because all they could think of is simply to get it all over with it in a systematic way. I honestly appreciate it when my boss is patient because she knows that i only have two hands and that there is calmness in the way that she treats her staff.. and that makes my female boss a very good manager, she understands the people and is no slavedriver. Passiveness does not exist in the corporate world to consider the competition, you can get your butt kicked in no time. Another good example is our CFO! She is very goal oriented and her timelines are all aligned with it. In fact, she is being hired as the regional CFO of APAC. If you arent a good manager, would you be recommended to such a position?

For sure, women are in most cases better managers then men most of the time.Women pay attention to detail more then men and read instructions rather then most men who look at instructions and say bah ill do it my self i know what i am doing. When men dont pay attention to details and read directions their is a high chance that mistakes will be made.Men and women are wired differently and men naturally have an agressive nature while women are calmer and reason more then men.

Women are less "bossy" probably because people dislike buy women even more than busy me. As a result, female managers are more collaborative and democratic than male managers. Second, compared with men, women are use or more positive approach by encouraging others rather than negative approach of scolding and reprimanding them. Third, women attend more to the individuals they work with, by monitoring them and taking their particular situations into account. Finally, there is the matter of getting the job done efficiently. Most manager, male and female get their work done in a timely way, but some do not. when you find one of those barely functioning managers - that is, someone who avoids solving problems and just doesn't get the job done, that person is more likely to a man than a woman. Why? Perhaps because a woman would fired or demoted quickly for poor managing.

You are right to some extent.Women lack balanced decision making because of male domination and chauvinism and pressure and stress of men.Women are very good at management but in our male dominated society either she has to suffer stress always that leads to bad and weak decision making because God has made women in such a way that she is very tender and she is mild to her best but when her pain becomes unbearable she takes harsh decision so it is all men's stress and domination on women that she lacks effective decison making because women becomes dependent on men at some point or the other.

I think that making a woman is a leader isn't a bad idea and I am hands down on this one because woman is more hands on and I know they had big ideas to share when it comes to work and most of all they are really focus on work. But it also really depends on the person whether what gender he/she is.

Typically, and I'll risk sounding chauvinist, some women in any form of power tend to have a more negative attitude because they usually have to work harder than men to get certain positions. I've worked under some super nice ladies in the past, but no way in hell, would I ever, say, date a female politician. They are scary and often a little too manly. I do however believe that the job should go to the person most suited for the job regardless of gender, race, blah blah blah, it shouldn't matter.
