Not good at english makes me slow.....mylot

Hi Dear, I never thought that you have taken so much of effort to write and read all these. I really appreciate your hard work. You have written well, as you do both learning and translating, it is sure that you will take more time to do all these things. However, if you have English speaking children around, spend time with them you can improve very fast. Also, start with simple exercises and start with school going children’s books like with standard 3-4-5 and all. Their books may be simple and easy to follow. If you search on the net, you will get simplified English lessons and can make use of it. Once you are in the right track, you will pick up very fast as you are a grown up person. hello! I am also suffering from that syndrome! I mean I know how to speak english and I can understand english well. But the problem is that I can hardly express my thought in english because I was used to speak in our language. But now my friends told me that I am improving. All I did was I constantly read books, watching movies and practice speaking english. I know that my english is sucks but atleast Im trying to learn. Someday you will not having a hard time in speaking english since it is our internation langauge. Good luck!

It is okay. You will increase your speed and improve in English by working with Mylot. I have been working with Mylot for more than year and I have improved a lot in my English. Also, I improved my speed as I am confident about what I am typing and it just flows to my mind to hands. I enjoy working with Mylot and this is a great place to spend some spare time.

same with you, we have our local language as our main language...english is not main languagee..so thats why many of us avoid to speak english..but we must realize that now we must to know about english..i do believe in mylot is one of the great place to make us comfort and be confident to speak and responds in english..

Oh. Hi there again.:) Well, for now you have to live with that. But do not worry about much with your english here. Just type in the keywords of what you are trying to convey. No need to be grammatically correct. As long as it is understood. Try to make your post a 4 liner. In that way you'll save more time or a short one like this. Chinese speaks without using any linking verbs and that is how they speak in English, too. Ex; Di Cha, which they translate in english as You Eat. Can you do that? This works for them, it might for you, too.;) Goodluck.:)

For starters BichDiep, you are doing wonderful. Everything in life takes time and practice. Your methods are going to gain you not only the ability to speak and write English it is going to allow you to appreciate the learning aspects. Secondly myLot is a great place for you to continue practicing. Do not worry about a bit broken here and there. We are all open minded and I personally admire a person for trying. I am Hispanic and have many distance family members who do not even attempt to speak and or write the language because they feel ashamed. Personally I am ashamed that they do not try. We must give credit to people who try in life as we cannot credit anyone for being lazy or outright not wanting to try. Keep up the great work and do not try to hard, be your self.

I don't know about your spoken English, but the written part is good. As to the wasted time spent on Mylot, if your desire is to perfect your command of the English language, your time is not being wasted. I understand that in time you will be able to think in English. For the time being, just keep on doing what you are doing.

You know my friend, fluency in English is not a requirements here. What you need is a basic in spoken English. The best way you learn is a constant reading and eagerness to learn it. English is not my native language as well but unlike you, we practice English here in our country and is in fact our second spoken language. It's not in the rule in mylot to not to use translators in commenting or adding discussions here..so what you are doing is right. By doing so, you can even learn some English words. And even if you think you are wasting time, you are really not. You learn here in myLot with a lot of things and you can meet different people with different objectives and different in the way they see things. You can also learn speaking English here by your means of translation and through responding to discussions here. And the fact that you are commenting on those who comment to your discussion is a positive thing..meaning you are trying to really reach out and communicate to others. Keep up the good work..i know you can learn the language fast. :)

For me since I live in the Philippines we have English as our school subject since I started schooling when I was 4 years old it really helped me to understand and speak in English. And my school even doesn't have Filipino Though Filipinos are not really native English speakers we can speak and understand it very well. I also worked in a Call Center wherein the main clients are Americans and Canadians. My suggestion would be to start reading English books whether its novels or romance pocketbooks. When I was in high school I like reading Harlequin and Zebra Paperback and now I read a lot of Dan Brown's novels (I just finished The Lost Symbol and its very good though sad]. Watch a lot of English Series. Not the reality TV type but maybe Glee and a lot mature ones like CSI or Gossip Girl. Read, Listen, Watch, and Speak the language.

I think your English is very well. Your vocabulary very rich. not same me, I write word by word. it's so funny.

I started to learn english "without knowing it", in other words, some years ago i started to play that MMORPG Online games, i think all of them were in english, but with time i learned 3 words,6,9,20,60,100... You just need patience and perseverance ;).

in free time you can write your comment.although i have no time but i can start from 4-5 comment.because i'm new member and not good at enlish so i only choose easy discussion.hi.i think we can practice slowly.come on

I think you are to be congratulated for learning English and putting forth so much effort to participate in mylot. Knowing only one language, I'm afraid I have no advise for you about what you can or should do to make the process easier or faster except to advise you to keep working at it until it's second nature. I think you're do wonderfully.

oh ic...... well first of all, what is your purpose of joining here in my lot?? if your purpose is for interaction's sake, i think if i were you i wouldn't mind wasting too much time on the translation process , especially if I'm trying to learn English...and try to improve it by doing mylot. but if your purpose here is to earn... i think it's a bad idea, because as you've said it's taking you too much time ... you won't get rich here in mylot, but it does pay. it's not a scam. trust me :)

Learning english is great! You should start with those nursery rhymes. They're really fun to read. Then gradually move to magazines and books for adults. Read them with a dictionary in hand. This is just a basic process. You can alter it to anything you want.

At first in not easy for me to stay here because mt English in not very good too. English my secondary language where I learn it from school so its so text book style English. But now I more confident about it and improve my writing capabilities, so please stay and you will not sorry because they are so many nice and interested people here. You can consider it as free English writing class and they pay you from being active. So welcome to mylot......

How long time you waste to read???I'm VietNamese too and I have a bit time to spend on myLot. I have no much time but as you know that on myLot you can speak the thing you want and vocabulary isn't important, just you want to say what you think.ok???Wish you have a good time!!!Be friend!!!

I'm doing exactly the same thing,otherwise I may not know what i'm talking about.And masters of English are those who can articulate themselves with much less words. Well since such an advanced learner as you would take so much efforts,I think I should work twice harder on English to learn it well.yes practise makes perfect,but we don't have a language environment here,so my listening and speaking english is poor.have a nice day
