My little girl does sleep with me on the wknds. My son slept with me every night until he was 7. I know alot of people disagree with this but I would not take anything for the late night giggles and the bonding that occured during these nights. What was really fun was the nights we all 4 slept together. Well, the kids "slept". LOL!!!

my daughter is 2 and 2 months and i let her sleep with me whenever she wants. Right now im renting a room with my parents because i do not get paid child support. so my room is her room and we share closet and everything. Ive recently applied for housing and got a phonecall a few weeks ago, im waiting anxiously for the voucher to come in. So im excited! i read an article somewhere that when one of a baby's parents leaves within 6 months of their existence they start to feel anxiety over it, and if that parent does not visit regularly over the next few years, they continue to feel anxiety and other bad feelings over the issue. Her dad left us when she was 7 months old and doesnt visit. Therefore I must admit i let her sleep with me. Not to mention it was hard enough to accept my pregnancy for 9 months, now that i have, i gotta embrace my reality. and this is what works for both of us. Now with my at home job, I will be working nights. so as soon as we move out of here, I will probably be making it a habit of moving her to her own bedroom in the middle of the night! yay! she'll have her own little bedroom.

I have 3 boys. My first two children slept with me until they were about 6-9 months old, then they went into their own crib and I had no problem with them not wanting to be in the crib. So with my 3rd child, I decided to have him sleep with me as it made night time feedings easier because after all, I had already done it twice before so it would be no problem switching him to the crib right? Wrong. :( He's almost two and he still sleeps with me. That would be ok, but he has to be pressed against me. At nap time, he has to be be against me or ON me (or my Mom if she's watching him) or he'll wake up crying and won't go back to sleep. I tried the crib, didn't work. I had to get rid of the crib because he could climb out of it, same thing with the playpen. He could climb out of them at an early age.
I know it's my fault but it doesn't make it any easier. I thought that since the first two were so easy to switch, it would be with my 3rd as well... If he would sleep in my bed and not need to be pressed against me, that'd be fine but sometimes I wonder if I'll ever have a normal night. Their dad is a jerk so we're not together but it makes me wonder how I would manage dating again, when ever night I have to sleep with my son against me. I love him but it would help to have a slight break once in a while at night. I have a full size bed so there is room for him to be moved over a little bit. I try this sometimes but it always ends with him against me.
