I have a good friend and her grandfather was talked into doing this program through MBP Today. He is a very smart buisness man and has always made good decisions but I am doubting this one. He did all the research and even called and he truely believes it is on the up and up but I disagree. However, I tried finding something posted on the internet to back my opinion up and didn't find anything. Of course, it was just launched on the net sometime in July of 2010. Is anyone out there doing this and if so, have you made any $ doing it?

No, but reading their websites and the comments some others have made seems to indicate it's MLM. Mass level marketing pays extremely well in the beginning. Between 6 months to a year after they appear though, they'll usually stop making payments as they run out of money.
I have a healthy skepticism of any MLM scheme, especially if they have nothing to back them up (in the case of MBP, there doesn't seem to be any product that they sell, only referrals) so I would remind your friend's grandfather that MLM has bankrupted many a good businessman through greed.
Good luck!

I totally agree with you and have tried to tell him it is a pyramid but he disagrees. This is a man who is very wise and has made many good investments. He has never been taken for a dime so I am sooooo surprised and shocked he would fall for this. That is why I am asking for others opinions. I want to know if others see something I don't. Thank you for your respons.

Well, I would suggest asking him this question:
Does he need to get other people to sign up under him to receive the benefits?
If yes, then it's a MLM. No normal business would require you to do such a thing. Just remind him of that.

He ONLY needs to sign up 2 people but then of course they have to sign up 2 and so on. It is an MLM but I still can't get it through his head. I have about given up. I guess he will have to learn the hard way as so many other unfortunate people have done.

Interesting view, do you both have much experience in MLM, anyone who gets educated, can find a reasonable company to work with. Then anyone can make more money then the person that brings them in, if they really want to, and learn better skills.
It is all based on your own personal efforts, I know people that make more money then the people "at the top"

Exactly. There are people making a ton of $ doing this but it is the one who came up with the scam and when people figure it out, there rich, your poor, and then they move on to the next scam.

A friend of mine does this and has been "cycled" a few times already. It won't make it 3 years though. The pay plan just doesn't work. Your friends grandfather will make a lot of money quickly, and then it will fall apart around him, most likely.
MLM as in another business, is a risk, but a little research and a solid education, can reduce many risks, don't get involved in any MLM, unless you can make money selling products or services directly.
The attorney General of the united states will ask these two questions, of any Network Marketing program to determine their legality...1)Would a logical thinking person buy this product or services if a bizop was not attached? If they answer NO, that is a red flag. 2) Does the money stop if the recruiting stops? If they anser YES, that is an illegal pyramid scheme.
I would like to mention, that I am a strong advocate of "legitimate" MLM businesses, and I know with a proper education, anyone can reach any income level they choose. MBP, just happens to not be a legitimate MLM company.
Sincerely and With Appreciation.
