Refurbished items have many meaning. Refurbished can be an open - box items, or the label wasn't match up with the sending information, etc.... It won't be necessary it is an defective item and returned by the customers. Sometimes, refurbished items can be last long, and it has cheaper than market price value. I have two personal computers which were purchased as refurbished items. I am still using them now, it is been for over 2 years now, another one is over 5 years already. So, I won't mind to make another purchase on refurbished item. Recently, I am looking for a PC with better equipment and running speed to install a server software to run an experiment. I hope that I can find one from the refurbished item list. Do you mind to purchase a refurbished item?

I would only buy a refurbished item if I could purchase and extended warranty for the item. I worked selling electronics for a major retailed and one of our competitors would purchase USED equipment and refurbish it and then resell it. On the other hand, open box items are generally quite a different story. For the most part, people buy something and return in within 30 days. Typically, I found that it was a case of buyer's remorse and that the item was never even used. All of the department employees bought their electronics that way. We would wait until the item that we wanted was returned and if we could wait 30 days, the item was marked down again. I got a Sony camera that retailed for $199 for $107 that way.

No, I don't mind purchasing a refurbished item if I knew why it had been sent for repair. For things like clothes, furniture and the like, I have no qualm purchasing refurbished items. For computers though, I generally would ask about the changes that have been made and the warranty for such items, mainly because I do not want another experience of an important component failing on me when I need it the most.

As long as an item is plainly listed as "previously used" or "refurbished" i see nothing wrong with buying these items. they can save you LOTS of money in the long run, and are often perfectly serviceable pieces of equipment. You just have purchase them with a "buyer beware" attitude and know that you can't expect reimbursement or replacement if the item fails to perform as expected, or breaks down completely sooner than expected. I have purchased/taken in many used items and have been extremely satisfied with their performance (and the way they fit into my budget for that matter!)

2nd hand Electronic goods is cheap but maybe a mis - Cheap does not mean it is good.Need expert advice when dealing with 2nd products.
I guess as long your are well versed in IT or have friends who can give your expert advice on PC / IT stuffs , then it is ok to buy good 2nd hand electronic products.Previous also i choose to buy 2nd pc for company to use as printer server and also to backup data like documents and also as proxy server, so i guess as long as the motherboard is functionable it is ok.

i am currently using a refurbished laptop which i had purchased about a year ago and it is working fine. I don't mind using a refurbished item if it works properly. What is wrong with using an item that has been fixed anyways?
