I am confused. Is like same as love? when you said, that you like her/him, is it the same as you love her/him? I often say to my friends, yeah i like you, but i didn't say that i love you, why is it that when you say you like someone feels like the word like and the word love are the same. then what is the difference of loving someone and liking someone. If when you say, you love that dress, it means you like it..but when you say to someone that you like her/him, is it different than saying you LOVE her/him?

Hi yomy, Love is different and life is different. We love our parents, siblings, children, partners, friends, relatives, pets etc., but there is different types of love on each one. I feel a perfect love towards god and the god love is a true love towards his people. Like is some alike love but not love. We like our friends, relatives, things as you said but that can't be a love. Most of the teenage children are using this word LOVE without knowing what is love actually. They may be having just passion or attraction but that can't be a love.
Have a great day.

Maybe other people used the word 'like' coz they're too afraid to admit to themselves that they love someone. Both emphasizes feelings towards the other person but it's really different. Even from their definition, they're not the same. "Like", it's when you 'just' feel something different for someone but it's not intense, whil "love" is when you feel something intimate to someone and sometimes it's a feeling that you can't even know the reason why you feel your heart beats faster when he/she's around. We all do have different perspective on this two terms but I know one thing for sure that we do know/feel what's really the difference between the two. If you had not experienced it yet, I know one day you'll do and you'll realize why love is so powerful than like!
God bless! ^_^

like and love, whichever you look at it, are two different words.
When I say like, it could only mean that I admire you, appreciate you or even enjoy being with you but it doesn't mean that i love you. Now, here is the twist when i say I love being with you, it means that i like the feeling of being with you SO MUCH but that doesn't mean I love you.:)
When it comes to relationship, it get to like a person first before you can love him.or you can like a person without actually loving him.
But, you can love a person without even liking him. Do you know about opposite attracts, it works similarly that way with love. When I say I love you, it means that you mean so much more than liking to me.And because I love you, I can go another mile farther with you even if I really don't pretty like everything about you.:)

For me, like is more on the physical attributes of the person. it's like seeing the person in the naked eye. LOVE on the other hand is more of a strong emotion, a special feeling we feel for that for that certain person.

You can like a person whom you love but you cannot love persons whom all you like. you can like your friends but love happens only with someone special.
for example: LIKE:if you have 3 friends and each having three different styles. you like each style of the three so you say your friends that you like them.
LOVE:if you have lots of friends with different characters and you see all characters in only one person and you can say that you love him/her

It has really make a big different from each words "like and love". For me like is talking about the things we like and the love is about the feelings we have to someone or somebody. Or sometimes it refers to a man also depends upon on how we use the word "like." We can also say to a person that i like you as "friend or anything we feel. I love you means a differ feelings towards a person we addressed. Sometimes we use it as a feelings and at at thing depend on the subject we talked.

With like and love, the difference is feeling. you can like someone and not have any real feeling except fondness for them. When you love someone there is a deeper feeling. it is a bond and connection. You can like someone but loving someone is even better.

Yes, feelings can be confusing. I tried explaining the difference to myself and end up being more confused.

is it that easy to say i like you than saying i love you?try to assess things.if you mean like as only liking then maybe its honest enough.but if its love and you seem to think its awkward to say i love you then you better shape up.its hard to regret things you never did afterwards.time is gold. try to break lose to the old fashioned feelings.be honest enough to tell someone you love if you really mean it...

similar thing but different..
when you say " I love you " that meaning you are about to loving the person and it would be with all your heart and perhaps marry with you. when you say " I like you " that meaning can share pains and passions with the person and it is forever or it can means she only interesting with your physical or your intelegent. :-)

I think like and love both is different things. When we met any person and we like their behavior then we can say that we like this person. But sometimes we met a person again and again and after sometimes we have some feelings for them in our heart and we always think about that person. Then it is love. Because In love a person never sleeping and always think about his/her someone special.

Like is very different from love. If you like a person that doesn't mean that you love him/her too. it's different when you use the word love for an object or things like for example I love that dress, it means you really like that dress but when you use the word like to a person it means you just like him/her but you don't actually love him/her.
