i finally arrived in washington, dc last september 30 amidst the hard rain. it was a long trip --a 23 hour from the philippines with two connecting flights--manila to san francisco, san francisco to chicago and chicago to washington dc.
my supervisor opicked me up from the airport and took me to my new home in DC. we're both soaking wet.
right now i am having a fever and migraine attack. this maybe due to jetlag. i am taking my time and getting ready for my first day of work comes monday, the 4th of october.
i hope i will meet mylot friends based in washington dc or nearby states.

Hi Jane,
Yes...but i am fine now. It's been a week and my body clock and system already adjusted to the time and weather here. My first week was simply great. the staff gave me a warm welcome and my clients are all nice...they are homeless teens!

hello msf,
wow! it's nice that you have reached san francisco.that was my dream,to be able to travel to different parts of the world. well,i don't think i can travel that much cause of not having budget for that. anyways, for sure, your family will miss you a lot.we filipinos do have tight contacts when it comes to our families, and i know you are a mother yourself, and it is hard to face everyday life when you are really far from your loved ones.but i know,it also depends on how you control yourself and just think of things that will make you happy while working there. for all we know, your main reason is to work there for your family's needs as well.be safe, and happy always!

Hi Annavi,
Yes i missed my family so much but with our advanced kind of technology it its easier for us to communicate. we used to be on video call and chat. i made sure that i see them everyday, talk to them and monitor their activities in school and at home. they're all fine. thanks! let's pray that your dreams will come true. have faith and soon it will be granted unto you!

Let me know how you like it.

Wow!! This must be so exciting for you! Congratulations on the job, first of all. And how was Washington DC? I live in the United States but have never been there myself. I have been to the Chiacgo ORD airport however, and aren't the colors on the ceiling just so cool looking? The longest flight I have been on has been for 12 hours (more with layover times) so I understand, to a certain degree, how you feel about having jetlag. Also, you can get sick on air planes - just from being so close to others and without fresh air or anything.. So I truly hope you feel better.
Welcome to the US! What an exciting endeavor.. Hope you enjoy it!

Hello MS. Francisco,
Congratulations! I am pretty sure that you will be taking time to adjust to the New Environment. remember, US has four seasons (Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer) unlike in the Philippines who only had two seasons. but we Filipinos, are adaptable, so i am confident you can adopt. i hope you would retain the values you have learned when you were still here.
I am sure mylotters from US won't have a hard chatting with you.
Trouble now is that 10$+ is no longer that much in US. but god bless you with your new job!

How exciting this must be for you. That really was a long time to travel and I can completely see why were not initially feeling well after the trip. Are you feeling any better yet?
The fact that you could have the opportunity to meet other mylotters as well I'm sure is a really exciting proposition as well. I've yet to meet someone from mylot in person, but I would really like to some day.

Well, at least you're there already. It was a long trip though, eo i hope you feel rested now and energized to report to work. Good luck and always keep in touch. regarding your migraine, if you have time i think you should get a check up. There are more modern apparatus there that could surely diagnose the root cause of your migraine. Till next posting. Take care and God Bless!

Hi Triplejazzm51,
Yes, thanks God everything went well with regards to my travel though pal was late by an hour but everything just became fine and made me reached DC safe.
Gone with migraine. i am more relax now...for a week i am getting used with the time, weather and my schedule. work is great. it's not toxic. i love the atmosphere. i only have three teen clients. they're homeless (not juvenile delinquents) and is following the rules of the program. nothing to worry at this time. had my sessions with them and it all went well. the program team gave me a warm welcome...with some food to share. have a fine and restful weekend. you deserve a break! hugs my dearest friend!
