Netbook is more convenient to carry anywhere. Laptop is bigger than netbook. but do they have much difference? Laptop has a cd drive which you can install software and other programs, netbook doesnt have, but you can buy internal drive. Laptop has big screen which is good for watching movies.. Which do you prefer to have?

I have not used a netbook yet. I know it is smaller in size and more convenient to carry along. But, so far, I carry along my laptop whenever I travel. Many of my work programs are on CDs.

Yeah, that's right. Also, if you have a netbook with Windows XP for example, it's harder to upgrade it to Windows 7, as the main way of doing that is through a CD. What you can do though is use a USB, but it is much more complicated to do that. On some netbooks, there aren't even any USB ports anyway.

Yes you're right, There is so much you can do with laptops rather than netbooks especially with regards to update. And according to windows forum Win xp will stop updating their service pack sooner, so more problem and error will be expected to those win xp users soon. With win 7 only starter is available for netbooks, (not really sure) but havent seen any netbooks with higher win 7 versions. And there were add ons and programs that starter could not update..

@jadsta: I just wonder what manufacturer doesnt have USB port? I was thinking that netbook is a product of new generation and USB port is the basic one next to PS2.

If you mean an actual Apple netbook or something, then I can't really tell you, as I have never used one of those. If you mean a netbook in general though, I would rather get a laptop. I have a netbook, and it is really slow, and can barely run anything. You can barely go on youtube, or look at sites with as much content as just a few pictures. With a laptop, it is just slightly bigger, and you can do so much more with it if you get a decent one. Yes it has a CD drive also, but the main thing is that you can really do so much more with it generally. They usually have webcams and built in microphones, you as well as built in speakers. Unless you really do not have enough space, I would definately get a decent laptop rather than a netbook any day. My sister in fact has an Apple MacBook Pro, and it is really amazing. I don't personally like Macs at all, but it can run so much on it at the same time, and has really good specs. She usually has over 20 tabs open at the same time in her browser, and can watch Youtube videos, etc without any problem or lagg whatsoever. I just don't like the fact that it's a Mac, but it is really a great piece of tech, and much more worth it than a netbook.

Yeah Apple produtcs are great I have to admit, just not the Mac OS in my personal opinion. The iPhone is definately amazing though, and probably the iPad too, though I've never used one before. The netbooks usually run slow with any OS, because of the small memory and processing power they have. They are meant to only be used with Wordpad, etc as a notebook I guess, but I would rather get a slightly bigger laptop and be able to do so many more things than just have a small netbook.

Well, Apple products really great.. Netbook running internet slowly... Would that be depending on OS you were using? Or maybe you're right for netbook just have a small memory.. On the other hand, I agree with you.. I rather have a laptop.. Thank you..:=)

I never used a netbook before I prefer a laptop to a netbook but my first choice would be a regular desk top computer the keys ar bigger and easier for me to type with but a laptop and notebook give you the freedom to move about so I like that feature as well

Well, I must say it depends on your needs.. Cant play games? uhhhmm... Maybe you're referring to games that needs high definition with so much graphics, then you can't really pay those. Netbook doesnt have that features..

I would list down the pro and con for you to make your decision Netbook Pro: Light Weight, Compact, Longer Battery Life, cheaper Con: No built in optical drive, usually run on Atom processor which is much slower. Recommendation: Suitable for people who travels a lot, doing light computing task, like simple document typing and web surfing. Laptop Pro: Better system performance, with built in optical drive for more multimedia features, bigger screen con: heavier, bulky, more expensive, shorter battery life Recommendation: Suitable for heavier task, gaming, graphic works, multimedia, programming, etc.
