How did watching anime influenced you?

I have grown up a really shy person and most of the time silent, I waste most of my free time watching anime shows... Although not all of what I watch is based on reality somehow it gives me hope that some dreams can come true, also helps me reduce my stress level when I'm watching comedy shows, triggers my creative mind in thinking about new things. Do you think it's a good way to kill time by watching anime? Did it affect you in some way? feel free to talk about it ^_^
