How do you manage all the discussions here on mylot?

I give up. I couldn't cope with all the discussions. I can barely manage my own, how can I even answer those of my friends... And I read many a great posts. I wouldn't respond though lest I trivialize their discussions. My response might come in half-hearted. I do allot some time to mylot, but I suppose that was not enough. So, how do you manage the activities here? Do you settle for quick responses, or you just have to devote time for worthy ideas?

Hi Eileen, My main goal when I signed up here was to earn a few bucks while expressing myself through writing. Till I realized that a few cents a day might not be worth my time so I diverted my time to some other stuff - graphic designing. I hope you are also writing to earn extra cash as your contents come great quality. Companies like assiciatedcontent.com would never hesitate to pick your works! I was about to stop the notifications sent to my email coming from mylot till I've read some of your posts that really caught my attention. I've seen a woman of faith, passion, and love. This is really visible with your postings about your family. That's why I've always been looking forward to your daily reflections about life, music, family, sports and even politics. I've been spending some of my time in facebook than in mylot and the only time I will use it is when I receive an Intriguing, interesting and an inspiring topic. I respond to those thread. Just like what I'm doing right now. That's basically how I do the mylotting thing. Have a blessed Monday morning! Mike

I agree with michael, she is really good in writing. The thoughts she conveyed are really clear and direct to the point.

Hehe, don't get so down on yourself. It's all supposed to be fun. You aren't obligated in any way to respond to each and every discussion that pops up - I'm sure there are tens of thousands of discussions here on MyLot, there's no way a single person could get to all of these. Plus, then you have to throw in the discussions you start, commenting on people who responded to your discussion, managing blogs (if you have one), and of course having a life outside of your online world. There's no way, so I wouldn't worry about it. Typically I'm pretty selective about the discussions I respond to.. (Most of the time). Half the time, the discussions do not really catch my interest whatsoever, too. I don't necessarily resort to MORE shorter responses or LESS longer responses, I just do whatever comes to my mind when I read the discussion. I typically don't spend more than a few minutes on each discussion, but that mainly is because I type so fast and my bring runs a million miles per hour, so it's really not necessary (unless the discussion itself is really thought provodking, that is!)

Well, I don't think we need to join in all the discussions here. There are too many. For me, I read and post a response to discussions that interest me or started by my myLot friends. Sometimes I start a discussion myself if I have something to talk about. Happy mylotting.

I do hope i have devote a lot of time here as i wanted to really respond to all the topics of my interest and really find time to read all the comments. But sometimes i really just can't so what i do is comment straight to the point. I don't go around the bush to say what i really wanted. Just as long as i think i have made my point already then that's it.

Sometimes I wasn't able to open myLot for 2 days and I felt something is missing. It became my habit to answer discussions aligned with my interests and those that my friends started. But since my time is only limited because of my little boy, there were discussions that I have left hanging (sorry friends) because of some interruptions like changing diapers or uncontrolled tantrums when I tried to come back my husband already took my post. So, it made me answer just 5 to 8 discussions a day. I would be very happy if ever I made at least 10 or more responses.

I try to answer thoroughly for the most part mainly because I heard small answers and discussions earn low money haha. I think it would be easier if when someone commented on your discussion or response, you got notified. The only way I knew someone commented on my recent discussion was because I had to go look at it. And I have no clue if some of my responses have been commented on. I would like some sort of notification.

I only respond to discussions I think I can add to them. I often leave info out so we can keep the discussion going.

Unfortunately I haven't been as active as I once formerly was, since I hang out over at Facebook where I do a lot of crosspostings for urgent pets that need to be adopted or rescued especially at High kill shelters....it's a job in itself! I try to focus more on catching up and replying to my own discussions that I started and have fallen WAY behind And like you I'm way behind in responding to my friends discussions Still I try to make the effort, uh that is eventually...what I really need is 60 hours in a day to do everything

do not push yourself too much on discussions and responses. there are discussions that are worthy to be responded, as there are responses worthy to be responded. not all discussions get the same attention and responses. that's why we have interests and friends here to categorize and organize our ways here in mylot. it is almost impossible to cope with all the discussions here. your time is precious and so your ideas too. make them count, and make them earn your responses.

I don´t make much more than one or two posts a day. If... And I read a lot more posts that the ones I answer. I feel, as you do, that I should not answer anything, just to post a rewsponse. I write when I have something to say. That. of course, means that I don´t answer all the posts my friends write. I hope they care more about quality than about quantity. That is how I feel life must be in every respect. Don´t worry and have fun here. We learn and we discover nice people. That´s more than enough.

Well, once you received a response in your topic, read and reply it back soon as you can. So,the next day you won't be having trouble replying lots of responses. For me,i do that whenever i started a topic. Now,i am not starting new topics but rather keep on replying my friends and mylotters discussions. It's fun to read and reply with others topics,i learned a lot and enjoy having inter-action with them. Have a good day always

I always give quick response when I read any discussions. Because I think it is worth to thinking because there are too much time spends in thinking. So I always give quick response after reading discussions. Because it is my routine to give at least 50 posting per day here.

I try to be responsive to all my friends discussion, but sometimes they overwhelmingly do post after post and well I can only respond to those that I truly feel I can add some quality and non-duplicated responses. I try to keep up on a daily basis so I do not get too behind, but we are human and allowed to overlook some from time to time. Best of luck to you myLot friend.

This is a good topic. there are lots of good topics to respond to here in MyLot. There would be times i have to admit that I am really not in the mood to post anything here but then again as I have regained my mood in reading those interesting topics intermittently, I am able to respond appropriately to the topic I have chosen to read. Sometimes, I am in the mood to do myLot all day long during the weekends. So my time is not really diverted doing something else and just focus to read interesting topics. I do settle for quick responses once in a while but most of the time I do respond with a lengthy and full of thoughts to a certain topic that deserves my full attention.

I don't manage discussion here.. I let MYlot do it.. all the discussions that are started by me are already sorted in a different tab and if I want to respond to discussion from my friend then there is another tab.. everything here is already in a nice and clean format..
