i was so amazed with my classmate. it was the first time i met a person who can write with her left and right hand. Her handwriting is also really nice. She writes with her left and if she feels tired she uses her right hand. i do not know if this is common somewhere, but for me it isn't so i was really amazed.

She is ambidextrous. That's something that I would also like to be able to do actually. Being able to use both one's left and right hand equally. I think you can also apply that not only when you write, perhaps you can also use that while you eat or any activity wherein a person would have particular advantages while using a particular side in a given activity, say table tennis or tennis? For me, I would fully utilize that capability in drawing.

This is quite weird... I didn't get notified of about my post being responded.. hmmmm, I guess myLot needs do something about notifications again Good thing I came across this discussion again Well, one thing that I keep on practicing for both my hands to be good at would be done using a ball. Like dribbling or using a small ball to make it bounce off a wall. I seem to be getting use to that but, of course, that's easy. Tried to practice writing with my left hand and I can slowly do print, not cursive writing (^_^") Hwoa! She paints? I guess making both hands word would also make both sides of the brain work. They say the parts of our body at the right are controlled by the left side of our brain and the left parts of our body are controlled by the left. Being able to use both hands equally would really be an advantage in making both sides of the brain quite active.

yes, she is and i must admit it's really intriguing for me. i do believe that practice makes perfect but no matter how i try to use my left one i just can't do it. yeah, she can play tennis, too, and also paint.

I can write on both my hands. I am originally a lefty but then my mom gets so mad when I write on my left.. she wants me to write with my right. But since she cant explain why she does not want me to write with my left, I write on my left and when she comes up, I transfer it on my right. lol!! weird parents!

My mother and one elder sister can right in both hands. Although they don't right nicely as with their dominant hands but it is still readable and good just like a grade school student writes. When my sister tires from writing with her right hand, she also does use her left but she rarely uses it since she writes better with her right hand.

This is possible but I think, very rare. This can also be considered as a talent. I think she has perfected her fine motor skills. Try to look for ambidexterity on the internet to know more about it. :)

Cool! It is a talent. I tried to do that when I was teaching. When my right hand feel tired I will use my left hand to write on the board but it does not look good as with my right hand. maybe if you will practice a lot you can also do this. Like Nadal he can play tennis with left or right hand.

That's cool. I'm right handed and my left hand writing looks bad. I've though about teaching myself how to do it but don't have the time.

Yeah it really is amazing. I haven't really seen a person writing with both hands legibly and nicely although a friend of mine told me that her father can write both hands. It was because when he was a child, he used to be left handed but his parents and teachers would scold him and hit his hand with a stick so he practiced using his right hand but still continued to write with his left when no one's looking. Also, my husband said that he remembered when he was a kid that he used to write in his left hand but his parents and elders would scold him and so he writes in his right. I think being left handed was discriminated long ago. I think it has something to do that there are more right handed people than left handed and so people long ago would judge that being left handed is a bad thing. When I was in college I tried practicing writing in both left and right. Our teacher in psychology told us that people who can write in both left and right hands have a balanced left and right brain. I forgot what it meant. hehehe!

I've used my left hand to write since I was a child. But with my uncle's influence, I started to practice calligraphy. I used my left hand at first but eventually started to use the right hand. This allowed me to make the letterforms more easily. Until now, I can still use my right and my left hand. It's like riding a bike you see, once you've learned it, you don't forget. Because of the calligraphic styles I practiced on, curiously enough, my right hand writes much better than my left.

Hi hushi I had a twisted right hand and being a right handed person, I could not do much with it during those days. But as the exams of my students were nearing, I decided to continue taking their classes and this was one time that I tried writing with my left hand. Trust me, I could write though but the handwriting was awful and I just could not write in straight lines. This is a rare capability and some (who are blessed by the Lord) can get this right. I have heard about just one such case and this one is the second. on the lighter side - I think I should try with my left hand too! It would help me deceive a few people at the start and play a prank!

Wow I really envy your friend I'm right handed and I can only write with right hand I tried many times with my left hand but I found it very difficult to practice. I would love to have the same talent too I have no friend or family that are able to write with both hands.

hi bush not too many people can do that, and its called being ambidexterous. I could do almost everything but write with either hand but when I had a bad fall, I crushed my shoulder bones.I had to have a shoulder joint replacement which left me with not too much use of my left arm. I can type but I cannot lift my left arm up high enought to brush my hair or take things off shelves or even to climb onto the step os of the city buses. It truly is amazing and not very many people can do that and have really nice handwriting.

In my opinion, it is not so weird,I know many people who are used to using their left hands to do things. I am one of the people who use left hand to do everyting except writing. It is said that those people who use left hand are smarter than those who just use right hand, because it can make your right brain get excercise. Maybe I could also try to use left hand to write!O(n_n)O~

I’ve never seen anyone able to adequately use both hands! That is amazing to me too! I am right handed and if I write with my left hand the writing is terrible! It sounds as though your classmate has a bit of a gift although reading your responses there a few here who can do the same thing...Remarkable...

People like your friend is not common...they are few in that stage. Even people used left hand for writings is a few... Some study says that those kind of people is intelligent or smart because they left and right brain are both functioning...

Some people are really blessed being ambidextrous. They have this ability of doing a single task with both hands. We have the great master blaster "sachin tendulkar" who is ambidextrous. It would feel really special if we could do things with both hands, its fun making people go whooot in bewilderment, when they see you doing things a few people can do. Personally I am yet to see any ambidextrous person in my life, would just love to see one and learn a few tricks from them :P.

I broke my arm in sixth grade so I learned how to write with my left hand. I don't do it that frequently because I'm slower and the handwriting is worse, but that skill is there if I need it. I also can draw with that hand and it's interesting to see the pictures that result. I still can't do a straight line with that hand, but I like the sketches that come out. They might even be more creative. lol. I can also write with my right foot just bigger text. Only used that once to count people walking by on a breezeway on an EXPO whiteboard.
