Hi guys, if you had a chance to start a business, what type of business would you want to do? To me, I would love to run a trekkers lodge and a restaurant. I only want trekkers lodge or we call it bed and breakfast because it is easier to manage than a hotel and also it is cheaper for travellers to stay at. I also love travelling so I know how expensive it is to stay in the hotel. Then the reason why I want restaurant at the same time is because this is one of my dream as well that I'm really hoping to do in the future.
So, how about you guys? What business would you want to do IF you have a chance? Please share

Hi,
I always wanted to have a business so I will be able to quit my job. I have so much in mind at this moment. I want to own an apartment, this will not require you to spend or work everyday, all you do is accept the payments from your tenants every month.I also want to have a mini grocery, all are daily/basic needs should be available so it will be a One stop shop.

Hi Cherry, I have to say you have the exact same idea as my patner's. He's also thinking to rent a own a houses or an apartment to rent out to people. As for the grocery shop, he said he would want it to be very close to our house. If possible, next to our house door, this is what he said We are both always working hard to save money and we are also still paying for our house, but with lots of effort and courage and motivation, we hopefully will achieve at least one of them in a few years from now.
Thank you for responding and have a nice time

That is a very nice idea, and doing something like a pre-wedding photography service always makes you a good income if your business is around a small city. Having a piano store, you may as well open a piano class, why not?
Good luck and have a nice day! Thank you so much for responding

I'd love to try the buy and sell business. It's very famous I guess anywhere. And to be more specific, I'd go into the clothing department like shirts, dresses, jeans, and the like. I'd also like bags and some accessories. But I what I would really want is also a restaurant or a bakery since I love to bake. I just don't have experience yet in handling a business and there's so much to learn.

Don't worry, you can learn slowly and the most important is the talent, goal and also of course modal. I had a thought of having like a shop for clothing and shoes long ago, but probably would be too difficult to me so I thought restaurant and trekkers lodge are still my first choice if I ever have a chance. good luck and thanks for responding

I'd like to open a gift shop - the kind of family shop you don't see in big cities anymore. One that would build a loyal base of clients in time, where people could come in and give some details about the person they're shopping for, and they'd get personalized advice and custom-made gifts.
I picture it as having close relationships with artisans and artists, who could sell their products there, and maybe even employ an artist full time, to design and draw personalized greeting cards on the spot.
But, unfortunately, I'm nowhere near making it happen... I've added the numbers hundreds of times and they still show I'll go bankrupt in six months...

Wow that is such a good idea. If you really have the talent then I'm sure you can easily start it but yeah I know when it comes about money. I'm trying to save up too so I can at least start with my restaurant first. Do you really mean you'll go bankrupt in six months? that is tough but be strong, there sure be a way to overcome any problem. Good luck and thanks for responding

Yep, I've taken the most optimistic scenarios of how much these shops sell per month in the beginning, and it's not enough to cover the salaries and rent. It could work if I had the money to support it for 2-3 years, but I don't.
Good luck to you too with the restaurant, it's a neat idea, with the right location, you can turn it into something great!

i would like to build and open a paintball field/gear shop. although we have one or two a few hours away it would be nice to have a local one and i would want to make it as affordable as possiable to my customers. most players are teens (like myself) and it is an expensive sport to play if you aren't sponsored. it would also be cool to own my own line of paintball gear and sell that in stores aroun the world.

Hi kodukodu,
What an idea, that's cool. For me, it is also my long time dream to run my own business. When I was younger, I want to establish my own garment factory for I'm fond of designing. I also love to make my own accessories like beaded jewelries. But time changes as well as people demands as we noticed. Now if I would be given a chance to run my own business, I would prefer to establish a restaurant. I love cooking, especially delicacies. I would also want to get into real estate. Hope we could make our dreams to materialize soon, Have a nice day.

Yeah, lets hope that all of our business dream will come true in a few years from now Have a nice day and thank you so much for commenting.

I would love to have a business running on food and clothes.I would like to have my own bar and cafe under one building.I would like to have a bar on the basement up to second floor and a quiet cafe on the roof top where people can relax after partying.I would like to have my own secondhand and vintage clothing and accessory boutique.I would also like to have my own shoe boutique that sells limited quantity per design so my customers will own unique pieces and will not risk running into someone wearing the same shoes as they are.

Mine would always be a school for children. I had one a few years back but I was unable to continue. I changed residence and somehow, I was not able to get back. Perhaps when my daughters are done with college, I could play with the children again.
You have a good plan there. I like cheese omelet for breakfast, and some toast!

Yeah I hope you will be able to do it again after your daughter's college. Having a school for children is a very nice thing to do, and you obviously like children.
Good luck and have a nice day!

yeah my first thought about staff is I would give them an equal right and treat them like my own family, because I had many bad experience with some companies in the past, especially not been given a right to talk accept of those one who have a hire position, where they can just throw all the blame to the regular staff.
Having a grocery shop is nice, make sure that it is very close to your house so it is easy for you to go to work and to go back home

Apartment rental is definitely good, it is one of my dreams too but I have too many dreams you know...I'm always like I wanna do this, I wanna do that and so on, but at the end of the day I have to be serious and really think about what I exactly want. Yeah, finger crossed, and hopefully our dream will come true

Yeah that is what I definitely is doing at the moment, which is working full time and also part time to save money. I want at the end of the day, I have something like a business to have when I get older like after I'm 45 so at least I don't have to work for anyone anymore, but people work for me, then I can just enjoy my life as I get older and older.
Happy earning too :)

After 16 years of corporate experience, I started a college planning business, and I maintained it for five years. Then, I sold the business. It was a great experience. However, if you start this kind of business, you must have a solid business plan and be ready to work lots of hours. Also, you will need about $50,000 for start up.
Now, I am beginning a new business. I have started a home based business. I requires lots of research on the front end of the process; however, it provides flexibility. I am in the process of assessing all of the different approaches. I have learned that if certain programs see too good to be true - then it is!

Restaurant is a good business to start.I always like to start a business which caters to the daily needs of the people.I would like to focus on food, cloth, entertainment and jobs. These are the basic needs of the people.Already I am running a cable tv unit. And recently I have started a HR company which finds the right talents for the IT companies down here and travel related jobs in Dubai. So far so good.

If I have given the chance and I do have available money to establish and put up a business, I want a laundry shop and water refiling business. Such business is in demand in m place because I am near schools and dormitories. I also want to put up apartment for lease. Four door 2 storey apartments would be sufficient for me to have an early retirement and manage it.

Yes, starting up a business that is currently in demand is definitely a good choice and make your business popular faster. You also will get less competition and have a chance to grow bigger and stronger before and new company by someone else started. Thanks for responding and have a nice day

My parents did farming business when I was a kid and they were doing very well until they finally separated. So now my mum is still doing it but not as much as before. It's a very good thing to do for business too and probably will be one thing that I will be doing when I get old and want to stay in the village. thanks for your response
