We work at office from 8am to 5pm. Sometimes, the power is off from 9am to 2pm. Our boss permit us off all day. But we won't be paid the salary. How are you?

We are off but I think we are lucky because we are still paid. It's not our fault right? So why not be paid. That's bad... hope you will get paid next time.

Yes, I think so. We said it to my boss. But he said that It's not company's fault, too. So, we're still not paid!

What will happen if the power is not on whole day? Must you be in your office? We're announced first if the power is off. So, we can be off if the power is off for a long time.

I tried it once. It is very lucky that we all had a day off because at that time there was no power. And we could get paid because it's not our fault to be without electricity. I love China

You are more fortunate...I remember my boss required us to be at the office, though we were advised earlier that the power would be off from 9am till 6pm. My boss expected us to 'make ourselves useful' during those dark hours (like filing, cleaning our workstation, blah..blah)!

I work 6-2pm and my work requires electricity. Sometime we experience rotational brownouts so about 1-2 hours a day we don't have power. And since we don't have generator, i get to relax for 1-2hours..eheh. But i still get paid for i have to wait for the power to get back so i can get back to work.

Our office have a generator so when the commercial power is off, our generator runs automatically. We never get to have a day off due to power interruption. In your office, it seems that it is not that critical to have a day off so it's okay to your boss to have a day off for the whole office when the power is off. Personally, I think its okay not to get paid during that day because the office didn't produce anything that day. But if your office could still work even without power like working things up manually without using electric driven devices, it's not right to forcibly give a day off. Well, that's how my view is. -)

There're many companies have generator for a power off day. Your company is too. So I think that you don't have the fun when the power off. Right?

Yes but that's ok. Besides I have nothing to when I'm not at work during work days/hours because all of my friends are still working and going home early would still get me bored because there's no electricity too. -)

There were times when the power was a off especially during the summer and it was usually off for 2 hours and that was the best time for me and my close officemates to go somewhere and do stuff together. I liked it that way.

we can't work without electricity and if this is not cause by ourself, we will be paid even without work. or we can work another day to make up it. sometimes the company will adjust the work time for some special condition such as bad weather.
