i don't know what to say but i have read from a chatroom that mylot is full of hatred esp the politics and religion forums. do you think so? i would like to take a look in a minute.
isn't that sad to hear that mylot has this reputation? can't we just share our views in a subtle way to enable learning and understanding from each other?

I never noticed that before because I have never been in a chat room in myLot however, there are a lot of haters in my point of view at myLot because when I was active on myLot my star was from 10 stars all the way down to 4 stars. My posts (discussions) I post up always gets removed and it is just frustrating. I pretty much gave up on myLot and just doing this as a hobby..

If your discussions have been removed from MyLot it is because you have gone against guidelines and violated terms of service. As you work on here as a hobby, and find your way around and learn what is allowed and what is not, your star will go up. My Lot does not have any chat rooms. We chat in the discussions. Some interests do have some people who express strong opinions. I think most people who are here at MyLot have had discussions removed or responses to discussions. I have, but it was my own fault for being out of line.

I am yet to see an instance of hatred in a forum like mylot :O. I never say this hatred thing in mylot in spite of having such a large variety of people from all over the world, those who are saying this definitely are doing this to bring down the reputation of mylot or for satisfying their bloated egos :D. Its common sense that people from every country and religion will have different views when it comes to politics and religions, so it does not mean that those topics are full of hatred, I have been participating in 2-3 such topics, but I did not see any such post of hatred being directed to any religion or so. In fact people are co-operative here and post nice views rather than opposing, everybody has his own views and a little opposition can be expected. Rest who spread hatred are those who don't know anything else than doing that, they are just stuck to only one thing and are usually narrow-minded. Its best to avoid such people and let them do their work :D. they are not going to change if you try to change them. The point is I have not seen any such hatred thing as mentioned by you in mylot yet. Touchwood :)

Politics and religion are both topics that people get very heated about. I know that over the years people have said bad things about MyLot, but often it is people who have been banned for violating TOS or who cannot spam MyLot the way they do other sites. MyLot has more rules than any other place I have seen. I would say to you that the chatroom you were in is full of hatred and jealousy.

I don't think so at all. Actually I think most Mylotters are quite friendly here. This is why I like here. Although sometimes I will have a discussion with others here, but it doesn't mean that we are quarreling. And there are not many discussions about politics and religion here.
I love China

I do not think that myLot is full of hatred. Of course, there is going to be some amount of hate on here, because that is the human way. Overall, though, I do not think that most people feel this way. I do think that certain interest categories bring out very vivid and deeply rooted beliefs, and therefore these beliefs are defended in an extremely animated way, which can sometimes turn "nasty" or "hateful", but overall I think that they are just passionate in their replies.

I believe just like off-line there are so many vicarious people with difference in opinions. I myself have encountered many great members. I can however, say that a couple of instances I have been saddened by people who intentionally go out of their way to follow my every response.
Why, I have no clue as to date I have never been anything but truthful, helpful and not to mention nice. Reason why I say follow me is because for some odd reason they do not comment in their own box but strictly under my reply, and usually the same members who I have no clue why they would intentionally be mean. Funny too the next day my rating go down a bit.
But the great members however outweigh them and well I keep coming back.

Politics in myLot tends to be very unfriendly for them that do not support the currant agenda out of Washington D.C. which more then half the American people have rejected.

I have never thought that mylot contained hatred. We just all have different ways of seeing the world. it would be boring if we all had the same thoughts and opinions. Expression is part of who we are.

People are different, with different ideas and opinions. I guess the best thing is to let them be, share their ideas.. whatever their point of view is. I guess we are free to express whatever our ideas are. You have been on mylot for a long time and you know better thanb those in the chatroom.

I believe that the reputation of mylot depends on the loters... Some loters are just being jerks. My advise that if ever we make forums in "politics" or "religion," avoid being bias. Mylot is about people sharing ideas and definitely not a place to have a debate. I f ever they're looking for one. They can always debate about "Which is the root of all EVIL..?" LOL...

I can only speak for myself, but I have to say that I have never ever experienced anything like that. I think most people here are really sweet and helpful. So I totally disagree with that statement. It makes me wonder if these people have ever even posted here, to be honest...

I think we should accept that everyone has a different point of view. Some people go out of their way to force their point of view onto others and to tell them they are wrong. If you don't agree with what someone is saying on here just don't respond to it, that's the best way to deal with it I think.

Absolutely wrong perception. I’ve been here for quite sometime now and have only met good people, genuinely eager to make friends, share advise and provide comfort in times of need. Religion and politics are both hotly debated topics and even in real life, best of friends can come to blow over these issues, so in that sense mylot is no exception. Its our own discretion if we want to respond to such discussions or avoid them altogether. Overall, there are plenty of other topics, informative topics, topics to make you laugh and cry and bond with people all over the world…I think we should make the best of such opportunities.

I think it depends on what part of the forum or discussion you see. I could definitely say that not all of the discussions here is all about hatred. I guess when the person went online he/she saw that most were ranting and such (poor guy/girl) ehhe.. But indeed there are days when all I can see in the leader boards for the discussions are mostly ranting. But I don't dwell in those. I try to look for something positive first.
It's all in the mind.

Mylot is not full of hatred...maybe there are some members who were get carried away by intense emotion when having debate with other members regarding political and religions matters. I think that's interesting and exciting as well.

Yes, there may be some over-heated discussions done under those topics, but that's only a sign MyLot is a thriving community that caters to exercising of freedom of speech and expression. As long as there is no damning there, no threatening, and some other unacceptable behavior, it is okay and no problem with over-heated discussions. I happened to roam there once, discussing religious views, and even tasted some harsh reprisals from self-proclaimed religious scholars and atheists there.. I now seldom go there because I am now focused on more productive topics like discussing business ideas.
