How will you describe an educated person?

I am not so sure whether academic education per se is the sole contributor to an ‘educated’ person. True education is life experience; tact and class are qualities that a person can naturally possess, learned through decent parenting or both. Bookish knowledge alone will not make a person either educated or classy. It is in an innate quality magnified by worldly experience.

Indeed, people need to be educated,but for eliminating the problems in the society by this,I don't think so.Because I have seen somebody educated that do something evil,it's more dreadful.

hi annierose an educated person to me is one who is polite, courteous and knows how to hold a conversation, and how to hold down a successful career as he or she has devoted himself to getting the schooling needed for the field he or she is interested in. an educated person has also people skills and can get along with others, and also be a leader working eith people under him or her. Our schools can help by taking in the whole picture of what an educated person is from social skills, work skills,and that old stand by plain old horse sense or common sense.

I describe educated person through his/her action. I don't say any person educated, if that person did not respect other person depending on their status in life...even if that person reach the highest education in the world... An educated people should be respected not on their degree but on their actions

An educated person is one who aknowledges not knowing enough to block them from learning something new. Other factors are the persons ability to understand and get this education from an understanding source. Then if one humbles themselves to learn with the ability to understand from a sources that is understandable with the effort applied one gets educated.

An educated person is some one who knows what they know...and knows what they don't know and realizes that life itself is a learning process knowledge doesn't always come from a book. As human beings we continue to learn throughout our entire lives as we face new and different experiences, concepts and ideas etc.

Personally I'd go with your example of maturity and responsibility. In my own experience school educated people, at times, are less socially oriented and more class oriented. Whereas low educated folks are more socially..oh..aware ..They are more genuine, more generous than their so-called betters.

first depends on what you study for and second depends on where you go to school at I believe at times somethings have been taken out of school like how to do things for yourself in case of special needs. and some times a base of learning is based off anothers score and not explained in better detail. We all learn at our own level. Eduaction is good and should be but never should one take importance out of school like learning basics for liveing..think about this some do not know how to sew, how to cook, how to survive if things happen , face it the world is ruff right now and if one has alot of knowledge in learning a trade of typeing, fileing and that is it then what ? that is all good but all the rest should be added in case of emergency.. put it in high school ..then on to other things. heck some schools stopped teaching to drive and put in singing. which is pretty but what really have they learned? What I am saying is learning is writing,reading,numbers, basics of living in a world that is in need of each other, depending on surviveing for self and others. Study is good and should always be . Education is Great and should be but the right things man or women or family needs should be first on the list..the rest should follow...just a thought from me. knowing the wisdom and knowledge of how to improve ones self. Learning and education starts from our own homes. From the day we were born to the time we were sent by our parents to school, home is always been our school and i still believe even now it still is. Parents can be our very good teachers and i believe the school is only the second place where we get more learning. For me, an educated person is one who is responsible, knows what is good and bad, mature in all aspects, has knowledge in everything about life, one who is capable of understanding the feelings of others and seeing not only himself but can see others as well. Schools can see how a student is educated by the way he/she participates in class and through his grades as well..

Being educated for me is similar as you described, the basic thing behind education is to live life with awareness about everything we do in our life, Education is tightly related to our profession as well. Learning is a never ending exercise which everyone should do for their own interest and I try to do that to the possible extend however reading techinal things takes most part of my learning.

I think I will describe a educated person from how they act and how they handle problem. Educated person must be open minded so they will wiling to hear another opinion that different from they opinion and try to analyze it to benefit of all and reduced conflict.

Interesting discussion. For many I could imagine this to be measured in academic terms, but I think that would be a very narrow judgement. Personal reading, for example, can broaden an education without the need to sit any exams. Similarly practical knowledge also plays a significant part. So, for me, I'd suggest that an educated person is someone who has a wide knowledge base: and the good grace to share it. Schooling is an essential part of development, and unfortunately not all of us do get the opportunity to take best advantage of it. The best we can do is ensure that our authorities continually strive to get the best from our schools.

Well.. in my own opinion an educated person is the one who learned how analyze thing, acquire, understand, etc.. in a proper manner. he/she is very responsive in all the things he/she is now going. he/she is not arrogant.. who do not choose people.. who learned much without any trouble.

You did not differentiate between formal and informal education! If you are talking formal - this is a person who has their PHD is University studies. If you are talking informal education you are talking of a person who has a successful life, both at home and in the workplace. An informal education is an ongoing thing, its something that happens in every hour of life. An informally educated person will have plenty of money,will very often be running his or her own business, and will have a happy home life.

an educated person for is a person that is thinking for the good of others a side from his or her self, who know what the thing or how the things to organize in a proper way,a person who know how to balance valuable thing in life,a person who know how to manage his or her self in the critical time, who now how to adjust his or her self,who how to help the needy, a per son with a humble heart. thats for me....

For me, an educated person is the one who undergone the process of learning that results a person having the mental capability to become an effective and a competitive person.

Being educated to me implies receiving bits of knowledge, looking at it from all side, looking for more information, and incorporating it.

For me an educated person is a person who act like a mature from their behaviours (of course) and have a good manners and well-educated :o Just an opinion
