Why do most the most successful people have attractive features?

I have noticed over the years that seemingly most (not all) successful people are visually attractive. From celebrities to the rich and famous, to business owners and well educated people.
Most all of these individuals share attractive features and are seemingly be set aside from the lesser of those considered as good looking.
Rarely do you ever see a stunning knock out working as a maid, or perhaps a janitor. People in the lower level blue collar work environments are pretty much everyday John and Jane Does. While many of the White Collar workers and elite are easily able to grace the cover of a magazine with their looks.
Is there a genetic predisposition linked to looks and success? or Perhaps does having great looks breed the confidence to achieve great things? Then again, do we associate success as being attractive and see the person in this manner?
Has anyone noticed this as well? and if so what are your thoughts on this.

A lot of people have to put extra effort to look good when they're on the road to becoming famous. Many have agents who help them lose weight and eat healthy and get advice about how to dress. They can afford better make up artists and new clothes.
People in those sorts of positions are trying to impress others, so they're trying hard to look good. Maids and janitors don't have to impress anyone to have their jobs.
Also, a lot of times success depends on who you know. People who know people are more likely to be successful. People who know people are also more likely to learn how to dress and how to put on makeup, etc. from the people they know, whereas those that are more isolated don't learn these things.
These are just some ideas.

Hey all ideas are welcome! You have some very good points. I could well be to how the person takes care of themselves and appearance.
Although, I have seen many a blue collar worker who... well... simply put, there is just no hope for. I mean all the new clothes and makeup in the world may help but they are still simply everyday looking people.
I am an everyday looking people as well, so I am not judging one over the other.

Hmm. I guess I never really paid attention to or really noticed how attractive people are in their different lines of work. I still think that, even if a person looks like they have no hope, little things can make a big different. Even just getting a different hairstyle or not wearing glasses can make a person look drastically different. I know that I look very different depending on the style of the clothing I'm wearing and the colors of the clothes. My face looks very different if my hair is falling forward on it or pulled back or laying to the side.

I actually never have given this thought but there is some truth here even with the ordinary day to day people. I suppose success is also in the eye of the beholder as when people stand tall and carry themselves in certain ways they can become very successful and assertive.
Even the ugliest of people, as standing tall, being attentive, educated, direct contact and of course the charisma can make a person quite charming.

Even the ugliest of people....ouch that is harsh! Do mean like Shrek kinda ugly? lol ...hehehe
Yes there is something to be said for confidence and standing tall. Although I would think that confidence would have to be drawn from something other than one's looks in this case.
Some people do find intelligence and education to be sexy and attractive, you are completely right though about success is in the eye of the beholder.
I consider myself to be successful.... so thus and therefore!

I saw a special where better looking people get better jobs because we subconsciously enjoy to look at pretty things, and are attracted to things that are beautiful. So we give the people we think are beautiful the better jobs not on purpose, also better looking people tend to sometimes have more confidence too, so they are more outgoing and can strive to get better jobs. Thats my opinion.

I have heard this. Also, beautiful women are coveted by men. Wealthy (usually successful, unless they just inheirited) men are coveted by women. Therefore, beautiful people and successful, talented people usually end up breeding with each other, producing more beautiful and successful people in the next generation. Beauty and success tend to be genetically linked after awhile.
