I just saw something about this! It's a natural reflex that we develop around 4 years of age. A child over the age of 4 who doesn't respond to yawning with one of their own is an indication that they may be autistic.
So yes, I yawn when others do. I even yawn when my dog does!

Yawns are very funny to me. My dog also yawns when I do (hilarious!) I read somewhere that people just add in the sound that is made to go with the yawn and is not necessary at all. Only the stretching of the facial muscles and the forcing of air into the lungs are the real yawn and they both work to try to wake us back up again. It is funny when it happens because it is so uncontrollable and when you try to stop it, it only makes the yawn come out even funnier. Human nature is very fun to watch especially so in babies. It is just plain funny to hear them make little everyday noises such as yawns.

It must be you.
No, just kidding. Actually, it's a known fact that yawns are contagious. I'm not sure if science has ever discovered the real reason behind it because I don't think they've even been able to understand exactly what makes us yawn in the first place. But, they are very contagious. I always yawn if someone near me yawns, even if it's one of my dogs!
My sister and I used to be awful brats when we were young. We would pretend to be yawning until our mother started to yawn, then we'd laugh, interrupting her yawn and causing her to laugh, too. That would drive her crazy because she would keep feeling the need to yawn until she was able to complete an entire yawn, which we did our best to prevent. Well, until she began to get angry; then we'd leave her alone.
Weren't we bad?

What a question. You must be observant to notice thing. But yes, actually I noticed that. Someone says that yawning is contagious. I don't know if it is true, but since I was informed of that, I silently observe and it is proven to me, that I could not control yawning if I saw one. As well as when I'm the one, the person near me or whom I am talking too will soon do the same.

Well, Haddowz, you are not alone.. I think most people - if not all - yawn when they see someone yawning. Even this little yellow guy makes me yawn..

Yeh, this seems a natural act and I have a perfect bonding with my mother on this, whever we talk on the phone and if any one either me or she yawns another will also yawn.
Everyone in our family will laugh about it but mw and mom enjoy this eveytime we talk on the phone.

No, you are not alone, because I did that too. When one of my colleague start to yawn, I start too. And i notice everyone around start the same too. I remember reading an article about this but I can't recall what is the reason that cause it happen.
