What, in your world, has the power to move you emotionally?

For me? Kids, music, old people crying(older parents especially, not sure why.), and "getting to the top of the mountain" (figuratively)

EVERYTHING! Well, at least the things that come to my attention. Kids, the Chilean miners, animals, nature, etc. etc.

I used to keep things bottled up most of my life, until everything had to be released.. after that I just let it all flow out. I'm like Tin Man.

wow, it sounds like your life can be very emotionally turbulent at times. Do you feel you are an emotional person?

I have a compassionate heart for people who are in trouble. They can really pull me out of my comfort zone and help them regardless of what problems they are in. I feel only then I am worth as a citizen of this world.

Beautify put! I agree with you too. I guess I hadn't really considered that sensation to be moving but now that I think about it...I may need to look up the definition lol. I admire your compassionate heart or at least the idea that you have a compassionate heart. Thank you for your contribution =)

I am very emotional and sentimentalists. Street children, beggars, disabled person on the streets. War news killing innocent people, terrorism. Happy moments, occasion and events with loved ones. But of course,i am easily touched when i am sad. I don't cry easily,i feel pain in my heart seeing bad things, but tears are not visible in my eyes right that moment. But deep in my heart i can feel it,my heart sobs,my heart cries for unfortunate events. Have a great weekend

I guess I perceive problems like street children, beggars, and terrorism as world problems in general and they do move me. Man, I left a lot more out than I though... Thanks for posting, you have a great weekend as well.

Soft hearted persons generally can be moved emotionally with simple people and simple events, and yes,you never knew why. One thing that my heart aches is,the freedom denied for women in some countries. I want to understand it is their culture and tradition, but it won't sink in into my mind. Maybe becoz i am also a woman and i am enjoying the privilege of freedom here in my country. Still, i want to say that...every human should be given their freedom (gosh, this is 20th century)

I am a guy and I understand what you mean. I guess it's hard to imagine having such low standards for living. I agree though, those poor women don't deserve that kind of treatment. When I think about it though, I don't really have sympathy for those women but more of an anger or disappointment towards humanity in general. There are just so many things that the majority of humanity can agree is wrong and sad, yet continues to happen every day. An important question to ask, however, is where do we get our morals from? How can we tell if something we do, that we think are okay and right, is actually really bad somehow? I love to eat meat, I don't see anything wrong with it but so many other people find it disgusting and cruel.

Music, people's life stories, some movies, some documentaries, and learning about something going on in the world that I didn't know about before.

I just saw the movie Mr. Nobody which was maybe one of the more moving movies I've seen in my life. Into the Wild was a movie that was very moving for me, although I'm not sure how moving it would be other people. Only When I Dance is an emotional documentary, although I wouldn't say that it's the most moving documentary I've ever seen.

What is the most moving documentary / movie you can think of right off the top of your head?

Kids can really affect me emotionally. So does older people, especially if they are in some kind of pain. Seeing people help other people sometimes makes me cry, too, because it gives me so much hope. The beauty of nature sometimes makes me emotional, because it reminds me how lucky we are with the beauty all around us. My family, especially when they show me how much they love me and support me even with such a great distance between us.

Kids are really a big one! Just kids in general, when they succeed, when they fail, when they are just being adorable, and when they are hurt or in danger. All very powerful circumstances brought by children. As far as old people, have you ever seen Fringe? It is a sci fi TV show on FOX and there is an older man named Walter in the show. He is very kind and intelligent but is suffering from some very sad memory problems. He gets lost in one episode and it was sooo sad! I haven't cried in over a decade but that almost broke my dry spell.
