Mylot should add Auto Notification to Newbies....

Hello Lotters, I guess the issue of Newbies which kept asking similar questions the first time they got to mylot (in terms of how, earnings, violations, etc.) doesn't end and some are pretty much tired of posting the discussion guidelines link or the mylot faq or TOS thing. despite that am proud some newbies as posting it too, there's more and more newbies coming in and still ask the same freaking questions., The admin has a thing for sending notifications to all of us members regarding updates in mylot, So,I wonder, Can they just create a program that would Automatically Notify Newbies upon their registration to mylot "the rules, the faq and the TOS"? so that at least some of them will have time to read it before starting off to mylot.. it's probably one of the things missing and a way to cut the similar questions thing.

Well its a great idea but a better way is to add a video after the registration page explaining everything. Just like the one used in chacha if i can remember.

Well the borat portion is bad. but i think if this was done professionally and embedded in some way in mylot then we wouldn't really have all the same questions everyday.

Hello Jopakoo, Well, there was a video representation about this registration. but it's very old and the lay out is not the same as it was before. but this won big time, because mylot use to have this video contest back in 2007. too bad i wasn't around that time, i wish i had. i have made a video myself but only good for testimonial. if only i had the windows OS, i could make another video about mylot. not a referral link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfvELx6654w

Basically, I agree with you, and I may have been guilty of this myself. I noticed that after posting a discussion similar discussions appear below the page. Perhaps if these similar discussions can appear BEFORE posting, this would be helpful. Another line of thought....these newbies are experimenting like a child trying to walk. It might discourage them to see that most if not all of their questions had already been asked. On the other hand, posting similar discussions may prompt them to open theses posts and have their answers.

Hello figurativeme, as for the similar topics, i think it depends on the tags being put. sometimes you can't find the similar title unless the tags are the same. there's a side of the responders area where you see other related post in that interest. i believe by putting the rules, tos and guidelines can give them familiarity about things. most specially how to avoid making similar discussions. have a great day.

hi letran I think you are on to something, they should send them all the info and insist it be read before signing in so they know not to make stupid rule breaking discussions perhaps mylot could give them a quick quiz to see if they did read the information given to them and not just said I would rather the older ones tell me the info. Why should we have to keep spouting out the rules to them when they refuse to follow them anyway.Let mylot educate them instead.

Hello hatley, I think the admin should have thought about this as part of their upgrade programs rather than making this funs stuff or the cashgopher thing.it's only our duty to report the violators and not to remind them(newbies) about it. i don't reminding people knowing they would feel intimidated. with regards to the quiz, if the admin makes it real, it's going to be for ALL of us.thanks.

But I wonder, will they ever follow those rules. some people are just hard headed for some reason. but youpre suggestion is good. maybe the admin should do a bit more thinking on this one. otherwise, we would still have trouble reminding every newbies that comes in here.

Hello Nobody4me, If they don't, then they risk loosing their post. worst, their account. i believe ignorance shouldn't be tolerated knowing they have been received an automated alert via first time registration of this site. we have been constantly reminding people about the rules that they tend to violate more and spank it out of my face saying i have no right to remind them. thank you for you're response.

It sounds excellent, however will they actually read it. I saw a discussion about a week ago from a first time poster and he verbatim said "did you see the myLot guidelines? yeah right like I am going to freaking read all of that". So sending them notification will simply just be deleted I would suppose. But I do think that, maybe some would read. If they only read they would literally stick around.

Hello Hardworkinggurl, I think they can do this VIA New Alert, just like what we are receiving from the admin when ever there is updates regarding mylot. If they don't read it then they are risking their account and their post for user reporting them causing affirmative action from the ADMIN. this way, it allows them not to have that slight excuse of just being a newbie. and i am telling you now, am tired of reminding newbies.thanks and have a great day

i think an official video must be made describing how to start on mylot and tell all the faqs in the video itself and all the newbies should be mailed that link and advise them to see it. interactive video will help all the newbies more effectively and this will decrease the obvious questions which an amateur mylotter asks......

Hello Pankaj, It's not through email that am referring in terms of the rules, faq, etc. but through updates on alert coming from the admin. the difference of this is that, when the new user registered to mylot, he/she automatically receives alert update on rules, faq and TOS. it's their choice to follow or not but they risk loosing post and their account. thanks

I agree on this opinion. It will help alot to newbies. Like what happen to me before we back 3 years ago my first post was promoting my programs and post my referral link that supposed to be one of violating the guidelines. I think the best is after the member finished the registration process there's a message appear on their screen DON'T POST ANY REFERRAL LINKS, most of the newbiews their first post is all about their programs and links.

I agree, am just frustrated when ever these questions became top discussions. then when you respond to them, they're deleted simply because they are violation. sometimes i wonder why i kept falling into these repeated discussions whereas they are violations in the first place. well, that's a nice suggestion you got there. take care. just let mylot know about it.

Hello Mika, I am sure mylot will do something about it in the future. i just don't know how willing they are to do it now. It ain't easy putting another feature that has already a feature. the maintainance takes only a few minutes, how ever there's a lot of updates being put in.

that's true enough and newbies doesn't even bother responding to our response. so, i think the admin should personally take a good role on this one.

Hello Jean25, I have tried making it as spread as possible but unfortunately only a handful of newbies are seeing my discussions about mylot guidelines. well, am sure they can do something about it for a change. unless, we should all notify the admin regarding this suggestion.

Hi LetranKnight, I agree with your suggestion, that would enhance my knowledge as well. Though, for me, I read the policy as well as the rules here in mylot, but I must admit, that there are somethings still unknown to me. I just keep on writing and posting for as long as I know I don't write in offensive manner. And for the earnings, I seldom notice its increase for I'm really enjoying writing here. Hope your suggestion could be granted to ease the burden of those who are so accomodating in answering the unending questions. Though sometime, if I know something on the posted queries, I've also post the info, for the purpose of reciprocating those who help me too.

Hello simple B, this is the only solution i believed that can prevent newbies from violating the rules over and over again. so that the veterans won't be brush off and feel we are intimidating them. i don't like being called bossy or rulers of this site. we are just trying to help them prevent from being taken action by the admin. period. thanks for responding.

I agree. i can't help but noticed thosed discussions that had been asked for a while. but of course, it can worse because mylot admin will have different glitches again. this should have been done long ago if they care much about the mylotters.

Hello greedymoney, Well, am not sure if mylot is going to have glitches just in case they only put notifications in the newbies account. they have been putting alerts when ever they have new updates. maybe it's about time they should add something more of a separate updates, specifically to newbies. i know they can do it.
16 Oct 10
The TOS, it's main contents and the discussion guidelines are important parts. so that the user is aware of the rules, there's no excuse of they still violate guidelines. notification i believed need more upgrades, like your suggestion.

Hello Rebelotter, It's not easy for just to think about it. but you are completely right, with this update, they won't have the excuse to violate the rules. Ignorance cannot be an excuse for messing around with mylot. despite that it's a great idea, maybe i should notify mylot about this update. i haven't been sending a suggestion there only to report violators. In other forum sites, I noticed they have that notifications for newbies written in bold letters and in large fonts so newbies will be oriented properly before they go to forum proper. I agree, MyLot need to do the same...

Hi letranknight25, I think you are right about it because it is easy for us to understand the rules here in mylot as newbie in this site. Even in my experience i feel hard to use this site in first and i keep on posting how this site works. It is really better that the admin will auto notification to all newbies here just like me. Have a nice day.

Hello Letran, in my opinion, mylot can send series of alerts to new members, that will contain some of the basic rules and guide lines, then they will be almost compelled to read them and become familiar with them, no chance of deviation or violation any more.. Thanks for sharing. Professor. . Cheers
