I haven't read many books, because the ones that I've read I didn't find interesting and they didn't encourage me to read other books since they all are so similar. Do you read books, could you suggest some really interesting book?

books are not similar. some may have the same themes or genre, but most stories are different as much as how they were written. i like reading as much as i like listening to music and watching good movies. try a variety of books until you find the ones that interest you. explore and be open about stories, styles, etc. some people like reading, some don't. find your interest.

So you are a 17 year old fella. Since you enjoy your grandmothers story, maybe you will like biographies. Of course other peoples stories wont be personal to you like your grandmothers but reading is good altogether so you shouldnt stop looking.

No, it wasn't like biographie, but a description of what people were doing during World War II. I like history, and reading the book I felt good. But that was unique...must say.

The only thing I found interesting to read was my grandmothers diary, it was more like a book, a story, but I don't know why other books do not interest me, maybe they are not close to me.

I don't read books because I find them very boring. Of course, they are a part of our culture, but it takes too much time to finish a book, it causes me headache, I cannot concentrate so much to be able to spend time reading books and in the end I don't remember too much either. I cannot blame those people that read books, but I don't like reading. I prefer to watch the movie version of the book, but I am not so keen on movies either, because it seems to me that I watch other peoples' life and I am not interested in this. I hate Big Brother type programs as well, and I don't like to talk about other peoples' life neither. This is why I watch mostly comedies. The other movies, especially American ones have happy ending, and I can guess the finish most of the time. That is why I have quitted to watch movies. I never liked reading books, but they were compulsory in elementary school and I now I have to read economical books because of my studies. But I don't enjoy them.

Oyes my late mother used to lament why they cannot write textbooks the way it would make me read story books. And now as a mom myself, when my son cannot sleep, I will ask him to read his textbook, that will put him in slumberland in no time.

Reading books in educational purposes is something different than just reading books for your joy.

Of course everyone makes their own decisions, but I think reading expands the mind to see other ways of thinking about things and to find out about things we have no experience with, among other reasons. If you read a few books and didn't find them interesting, maybe you could try a different kind of book? There are so many to choose from! What are your interests, how old are you? If we knew that, we might be able to suggest something you'd enjoy.

all so similar? Thats the silliest thing that I've read for a long time! As for suggesting "a really interesting book," well, what you might find interesting might not be the same as what I'd find interesting (in fact highly unlikely) so it's not possible for me to offer you any reading suggestions.
All that I can suggest is to read more books and as wide a variety as possible until you do find something that interests you.

Similar...I mean there's nothing new I could read in them. I have better imagination than most of the writers, so I find reading their stories predictable and boring. Suggest something that could surprise me.

So if you have a better imagination than most of the writers why don't you try writing a book yourself?

Hmm you did not state how young you are or if you are a man or a woman. I have a man friend who lent me Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (sorry if I got the name wrong though). I enjoyed it very much. Eventhough I have seen the movie, the book is still very exciting.
