what reminds or tells us . . .

often, the busy lives that we live tend to make us forget the little things that's equally important and reminds us of simple joys or of thoughts that make us happy or remember who we are. stop and smell the flowers. do you do that? what are those simple things or joys that remind you of yourself, of what's important to you, or what you must never forget? mine are simple lines of words, stories behind stories, a few people, good music, and good memories.

mine is having a coffee with a friend, or just sitting with them and talk alot of things.. i miss our sleepovers, our breakfasts together. i miss how we tease each other, laugh each other and doing silly things together. i miss how we used to talk about secrets, gossips and anything that may pass our minds. i miss our agruments over things that should not be argued and even our simple quarrels that nowadays are our laughing stuffs. but what is missed the most is our "sharing of dreams" moments. i really miss my friends, more than the way i thought.

I've learned the hard way that every now and then we need to stop and smell the flowers. I got so focused on my busy life that I was neglecting the most important things in my life - family and friends. They reminded me of that, but not so much with words, but disappointed looks when I would turn down an invitation to play or go out. It made my heart break to see the sadness. Now I always try to remind myself that even though I'm busy, I need to take care of what's important in my life first.

that's right, pschenck. simple things like pictures of our loved ones right on our work desk or a short message that we get to read again, or a frowning face do those things. i am now acting on a promise i made to my little boy. something that i have been wanting to do for a long time but couldn't because of being too busy. now that i'm on it, i call it a happy distraction, lol. tnx for the response!

I think it is always nice to stop and smell the flowers. It is very easy to get caught up in the rat race of life. I think that we can keep a little more of who we are by stopping and remembering what things are really important.

that is so true, jenintn. perfect phrase "get caught up in the rat race". sometimes it's people or things that we see along the way that remind us to pause and try to remember the most important things or people in our lives. that's the best part about being humans, we many get busy but we still remember, think, and check ourselves. tnx for the response!
