Can you love an inanimate object ?

I think we can. If you are locked in a room with a chair and table...they will soon become your friends and you will eventually start talking to them.

Yes, we become attached to things especially if it's been there for us in time of need regardless if it is living or not.

It is probably true... Since human beings are social creatures and if they are cut off from society we'd probably seek comfort in whatever we can get... Like how some older people really love their animals because they're always there for them. Or in Cast Away, when Tom Hanks is trapped on that island and his best friend becomes the volleyball...
