What was the farthest place you've been in the country?

Ilocos Norte Laoag - the sinking bell in Laoag. Very beautiful place in the Philippines.

I am now in Ilocos Norte for work, with my band. This is the farthest i've reached in the Philippines. I am exactly in Laoag. Beautiful place and very nice people. They welcome us with all smiles and they are very generous as well. Before i came here i was overwhelmed with the travel time of 12 hours from manila to here. I was sitting in the van forever. but the unending trip was worth while, this place is one God's wonders.

I was born in Manila and stayed there till i finished elementary, even if our family moved to Quezon city. I went to new Era university for high school, and then , I went to U.P Diliman for college. I went to Cebu and stayed for a year to study in U.P cebu because I thought that since U.P has a college there,i might as well take that opportunity to see the queen of the South. It looked same as Metro Manila, but there was beach place where we could swim for free. I loved shopping there also. When I went to med school, I chose to live in Cavite where La Salle has a med school. I worked in Mindoro with my husband as a government physician because I just wanted to have some excitement from going to a place where no one know us.After two years, we went back to Metro Manila. I now practice in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Wow you've really been to a lot of places! ...and not just for vacation ...you actually lived there for a while! How was the experience? Didn't you have a hard time adjusting?

Lucky you! I've been to Bohol last year and I sooo love the place. I can't get enough of Bohol. Unfortunately, I was not able to go to Danao where you get to have those mountaineering adventures. I always recommend Bohol a must see place to my friends.

I suggest he better go to Pagudpud rather than Fort Ilocandia. Fort Ilocandia beaches are not white sand. But I suggest he can do sandboarding instead, with the sand dunes just near the hotel.

I live in Bicol for the better half of my life and now am leaving here in Manila for quite sometime. I have traveled to places such as Baguio City which is my most favorite destination so far. Although with the onslaught of the recent typhoon it is in state of disarray. I also visited an island in Romblon which is part Visayas and part Mindanao. I also love Dumaguete since I stayed in a vacation/business trip there two years ago. The warm people and nice waterfront house really made me meditate on God's word better. A spiritual journey of sorts. I traveled much around Luzon going as far as Gubat, Sorsogon for a mission trip with my Mom. I was there 20 years ago and still recall the mountains we trekked in as part of the mission trip. I also like Oriental Mindoro since in another mission trip/ Loofah farming seminar I stayed there for a month. There are still more places to visit and see in our country.

The farthest destination I've been to is Batanes. I super love that place. The people there are very nice and very hospitable. And the scenery is awe inspiring! It's as if it was taken right out of a Lord of the Rings movies. hehehe. Batanes is a sight to behold. If you guys haven't been there yet, you should! It's probably the best tourist destination in the Philippines. :)

That is the way to travel to the north... and then you feel the waves tossing you to the mountains.

I have never been so far away from my birth place. I am from Cebu but i have only traveled up to Bohol and Tacloban city in Leyte. They are not too far but that's the only place i have gone so far. I'm afraid to travel through boat or plane so i rarely go out of town :(

My family wants to go to Ilocos too but I've never been there. They keep on telling me stories during their travel when they went to Ilocos and I guess I was not born that time yet. Those stories makes me eager to go see Ilocos the way they tell their stories. I'm currently in the province of Tarlac and the farthest part of the Philippines that I've reached was Sorsogon in Bicol region. We were only commuting that we need to ride 2 buses. Tarlac to Manila and Manila to Bicol. The travel time would take around 16 hours and that doesn't include the waiting time on terminals (Manila to Bicol). When we arrive at my grandma's house, my feet was so hot as I remove my shoes. We usually arrive there at dawn so I about to fall sleep already and wake up late in the morning. If I'm not mistaken, I think we will only need to pass just one town from my grandma's house and we would already reach the tip of Luzon. This is how far Sorsogon is and this is the farthest and longest trip that I have every time we were giving my grandma a visit and taking a vacation at the same time.

I have been in Cebu late last year and so far, this is the farthest I have reached in the country. But I was there to attend a training and sadly, was not able to find time to go around the place.

I live in Luzon, I've never been to Visayas and Mindanao but I'm looking forward to those places. So far, the farthest I've been in the country was in Baguio. I love to go back to that place because of the weather. It's cold and you'll see wonderful views of the mountains. I went there last summer for a family vacation.
