We have people who have gone to school, we have those who didn't. They all seem to behave in the same way! They think they can do any thing they want. No respect to any law!
I can understand ignorance of people if they had not gone to school, but what about those those who did? They are literate as they have a degree. But are they educated?
What is the use of literacy if education is not the result?

I believe that there are 2 kinds of education that we need to go through to survive in life and to eventually succeed. One is the education that we get from school. This is the basic one that we need for getting a job. The next education that I'm referring to is the education that we get from our own experience, family and friends. This kind of education gives us wisdom that we need to be exceptional, this wisdom gives us our identity.
Sad to say that there are people who only has the first kind of education and forgets about the second one.

Hi,
I do see some educated people still behave bad and
it seem that they are not educated at all.
I can say that person has a bad character.
The differences on educated person should have more open
minded thinking and have more experience and knowledge,so they
are more exposed to society, but some tend to get over proud
of themselves.

I am getting your point dear Webearn. You mean to say the people who have not attended any schools to get formal education can behave in an ignorant manner and careless manner without paying any respect to others and even to the Law, because they have never been told about these things or taught about these things. But it really hurts one when we see such behaviour from so called educated lot!
I believe getting formal education in schools is something very different than applying the same in one's life for betterment of self and the society.Educated people shouldn't forget that their teachers toiled to show them right path to enlighten their lives and also the society in which they are staying. If this thing is understood then no educated youth would behave in such unruly manner.
Possibly with the mass media exposure today what today's kids have, they are getting attracted to crimes and anti social things much quicker than the good thongs. Though at the end of every movie it is shown that evil perishes , these youth will never remember this as the evil deeds by anti social elements shown in the movie are highlighted so much that the youth get impressed with such activities and they tend to copy the same. Here there is no role of education comes into the picture. All they want o do is just copy the incidence and have the thrill.
Disobeying traffic rules, misbehaving on the streets, shooting in the schools and colleges, rash driving etc are few examples .
Thus I feel today's youth is misguided by many factors and because of which he is failing to behave like an educated one in spite of the fact that he is highly qualified! Lets hope this is a temporary phase and things will get settled soon so that we can have better people and also a better society!

Even people who have gone to school still feel the need to be rebelous, even if they know it was wrong. School really doesn't matter either way. I have friends that never went to school a day in their life, and they can run circlres around people,as far as education goes.

Among those who had gone to school, there is a difference between the schooled and the learned. Not all schooled people are learned. There are those who breezed through school, even up to college and simply did not learn anything of value. And that is such a sad case. And the worse case is when they use their education for evil motives.

Frankly, there is no difference between the people who have gone to school and who have not gone to school. The main difference between them is the mentality.A person with a good mentality is useful to society, but a person with bad mentality is harmful to society.

It doesm't matter if you have degree or not. Some people will act foolishly, because they care to act foolishly. It's just their personality, but I think that for the most part degreed people behave better.

I think it is not all about education, degree or profession.
It is about behavior and attitude.
If an educated person consider as illiterate and yet knows how to respect the law,it is becoz he/she know the importance of it (law) and it is really their nature to respect what they consider respectful.
With educated people (professionals)with lots of ego,yet didn't know how to respect the law,it is becoz,it's their nature, that even education can't do anything to change them that way.
What is the use of literacy if education is not the result?
I agree.

Hiya WBE,
They might have gone to School and had a very good education but they forgot to learn the basics whilst they were at School. To appreciate their fellow Classmates and others that were in other Classes.
To be as good as you can and to show respect to others.
People like this cannot love themselves very much for a start off if this is what they do and how they end up. If they cannot love themselves how can they love or respect anyone else?
That is where the "second education" as toni says comes in too.
But you can choose to live a good life even if you have been very badly treated in life but others don´t see it that way and off they go to live their life in that bad way.
Some time or another they just might realize what they did and how much wrong they have inflicted but no one really knows when that will be do they?
Most of the People I went to School with are great People and they were great kids we all looked after each other. There were no differences between us until they split us up and taught us differently.
That´s when we all started to grow apart a little anyway.

You must be referring to qualifications. Education is not what one gets by entering the portals of a school or college but through the kind of exposure one has in one's day to day life. Even an ant can teach one something - an insect that has not gone to any school

There is only one difference that we do expect much from a person who is educated. But maximum student only read the book they don't learn from books but uneducated learn the things from there own life experience that's why they are good in some things. We should not learn only for pass the exam student should learn for there life.
Good luck!

At the end, people will behave as they want, literate or not, educated or not. They went to study cause they want to get more money, but surprising enough people who who not go to school can also make lots of money. The difference is in your heart. No one knows about it.

They don't offer post-secondary degrees in respecting other people, unfortunately! If only formal education offered classes on thinking of others before you just do some selfish thing to save yourself a few seconds.
Some people think that because they have a degree they are better than other people and deserve to do selfish and rude things.

Hi Webearn,
The thing is that school doesn't teach morals and values. I know some people who are pretty uneducated as far as school goes but they know right from wrong and they have strong moral convictions and know how to treat people. A persons values and their education are two different things.

Being educated has a really big difference with that of being not.
Education is wealth which cannot be taken away from us.
It is still better to be educated and it makes us proud.

And and education should mean a person has some experience with living around other people and have a social hint. Humans are arogant and don't think they need to go by rules and laws set down for them to live in society. Ignorance is bliss and it is sad that they can't get a clue.

Life is one big learning field. It is not necessary to go to school to learn how to live. In fact formal education often is a detriment to learning. Most of our most famous inventers found formal education nothing but a waste of time. That's because they had to think outside the box to become inventors .

Even the people who did not get a formal educations sometimes are wise. Much depends on what they have learnt from the experience of others and how have they applied that experience in their day to day life.
