Do you remove the air conditioner from your window in the winter?

This might sound like a silly question but I am very curious about it. When its winter do you remove the air condition from your window? I had my ex put the air conditioners in during the summer but the one is to heavy for me to remove so I was just going to leave them both in there and get thick plastic and tape it around the inside of the windows so I wouldnt have to take the air conditioner out and put it back in again in the summer time. I was worried if wouldnt keep our rooms warm enough though. My mother had my father take them out of the windows for me thank goodness. Do you just leave them in the windows or do you make sure to take them out when it gets cold?

When I owned my home I did have central air. But now I live with my boyfriend in an apartment and he does not remove it. I asked him why not and he says why as he covers it well and says there is no need to remove.
My thinking is that it should be removed as it gets so cold out and even the tiniest gap seeps into the apartment. But he has left on the window for 4 years now and well he pays the heating bills so I won't complain. ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

Right thats what I was worried about to that without the window shut tight even with a thick plastic taped around the window it might still make the room to cold. To heat the house is very expensive so I was worried about making it cost even more if I had to leave the ac in the window.

There is no need to remove AC in winters, simply rap it with the plastic or AC covers are available now. For detailed information can visit us or call us on 239-205-1001.

We take them out up here. It gets to be sub-zero in my area with 30 mile per hour winds in the winter time, so not really an option to leave them in.
