I cannot believe how people would be able to post thousands of topics here in mylot.. I cannot imagine myself ever reaching this number of topics posted on my account.. How about you what is your style to be able to post so much topics in such a short period of time... Do you just post anything that comes to your mind.. or you think of one topic that you think will interest people to respond.. When you post a topic do you know in advance whether it will get many replies.. Don't you feel insulted if no one responds to your topic or only gets a few replies while you exerted much effort to write about it while others get much replies for a topic which you think personally should get much replies.

I do not start very many discussions but am a loyal responder. This is my 5th month and I have achieved my number is a short period of time. I am not one that likes to spew out discussions after discussions, but God Bless those that do. When I first started on myLot I find it quite normal to get few responses as member really do not know who we are and or maybe it is a discussion they recently responded to. There are many factors for low responses and I find sometimes it is a matter of timing as well. It depends when members are mostly online. Now I find that when I do start a discussion I get an abundance of responses to the discussions. Stick around for a couple months and you too will notice the patterns. Good luck to you.

Sure I can help with your avatar. First it has to be a gif and the size limitation is 60 x 60. If you choose one larger than this it will not work. So what you can do is download, as I did the free, gif reseizer which will let you virtually take any size gif and turn it into a 60 x 60. You can search the web for any animated gifs you like and or use a site like photo-bucket to get one. Just type in animated gif and you will have many to choose from. But again make sure it is the right size. Then when you have your gif re seized and saved you can look above on any page and see the preference option there is where you upload your avatar from your computer. Sure send your request to be friends and would gladly accept. I do not turn away anyone as long as they do not spam or flood me with referral links.

Not really. I usually take my time to read through the questions and answers that are posted here on MyLot, and I usually only post a thread if I think it's interesting enough for people to respond here. Which would explain why I don't see a lot of cash flowing into mylot. XD

Hi sammy, it depends on the readers. There are times that when i am reading the posts and can think of something in relevance I will post a reply. I too have some unanswered posts so do not worry about it if yours have not reply yet. In some other time a reader can read your post and can think of something to share and you will get a reply. When I started mylot I have only 7 posts and became inactive because I can't think something to post. It is only in August this year that I become active again. Right now I only post responses because there's nothing that comes to mind. I can think of some idea but only disappears when i started typing. LOL

Thanks blue rain.. yes you are right.. That happens to me.. it is called mental block.. I suggest that you write all your thought on a piece of paper so that you won't forget what you will write once you decide to write it... good luck..

You shouldn't feel insulted if you got zero reply especially when you only do it to express your feelings... this blog site is just an outlet.. and it's only bonus when people were reacting on what you posts... well.. that's only my opinion and point of view..

I do not feel insulted when I get a few or no replies at all. I think it is but normal that there are certain topics that don't capture the interest of the majority or could not really relate to it. Even if I get 1 response, I still am appreciative that someone was kind enough to share their opinion or knowledge.

I cannot handle more than 3 discussions a day so if something I think will interest people I post it, and if I still want something to start with then I'll wait for a day or two before posting that discussion again. When I get no responses from my discussions, it ok with me since waiting is fine with me. I just wait for people to respond on my discussions. I don't want to get frustrated about a discussion with no responses I can still start a new one and get on with the discussion.

On the contrary. If no one responds to a discussion, doesn't that say that the work is so well written that there is nothing that can be added to it? That is how I feel about my last one, that only has one response so far stating their opinion of the situation and that they had nothing to add. There was nothing to add, I said it all. Of course, others would have a different opinion than the article, and maybe eventually they will come out, and explain why they feel the way they do, but until then, I consider it one of the best I have written. I certainly hope it is not the calm before the storm

I try to give it some thought before I start a discussion and how successful a post is going to be is difficult to predict. I have posted about things that I may not have considered as all that interesting at the time and yet they have, at times, turned out very popular and the reverse has happened too. I am not upset by a low number of responses; the only thing that bothers me is not being able to move that topic from my ‘unresolved’ section otherwise I don’t really mind.

When I just joined MyLot I saw a member who had written 400 posts. To me it sounded like a lot and I didn't think that I was ever going to reach that number. Now I have written more than 4400 posts, so I guess I was wrong It has taken me a couple of years to reach that number, when I am at home I usually spend some time here every day, but some days I only write a few posts, it depends on my time, my mood and my energy. Sometimes I get many responses and sometimes I only get a few. I think it is nice to get many responses and I like hearing many different opinions and perspectives, but I don't get insulted if I get few responses, because there can be many different reasons why few people respond. Maybe they aren't able to relate to my topic or maybe I posted the discussion while there were few people online etc.

Well, i wouldn't actually feel 'insulted', but maybe i'd feel discouraged a little. But then again, maybe having lesser replies who have something to do with the topic the discussion that you started. It might not have left people with a lot of things to say, so they kind of skip it i guess? For me, i just open discussions when i feel like it, on topics that i just come up with instantly. Some would also have to do with some of the problems or worries that i have which would be great if i could get other people's insight on the problem. It's really great if when you read about what other people have to say. :)

I actually do not post a lot because I don't actually have much idea for new thread. I prefer to response more to other people's post because I can find a lot of interesting topic to reply. I personally would not feel insulted if my post did not get many replies because I understand that our interest are always different between each other.

I am posting topics that comes in my mind with the intention of getting some more opinion from friends. Getting no replies means that probably they just don't have any opinion about the topic. But not that they don't care. It is how we perceive things. We should always think positive that even if we don't get replies, ut must be okay with us.

That is why I don't post more, i am more into replying a post since I don't have enough time to think what to post or ask and I don't seem that the topic I had was not discussed here. I am careful not to post repeated or existing topics. About feeling insulted, nope I don't mind if no one answered if the topic was really unanimous to all members. Probably I have to rephrased the sentence or topic once again and wish that there is a chance to delete a post here

We should not feel insulted over few or no replies. Everyone will not be interested in the same topics. Everyone is entitled to their point of view. We can't take it to heart.

I am new over here and I think as I read the discussion, it ll talk a long time to reach to the level where I ll have much number of discussion. Whenever you post a topic, your idea is to get responses and get more friends involved in your discussion. There are different factors which put effects on this, this require your skills that how often you respond to other topics and how active you are in the community, this is one thing and there are certain other things which you should consider to getting replies. For me I dont feel any insult if there is very less or one person respond to my topic, I know I posted some thing similar to this and one of senior member, said it is enough for him if he found one response on his topic, and the other thing is management of the thread or topic, your thread can only be alive if you respond to every comment and it is very hard for me managed more than two topics if I am getting responses. So the point is not feeling insult or such kind of thing, the point is how active you are in the community to give and get responses Have a great day....

I just recently joined here at mylot and I'm still familiarizing myself with this site. I just signed up here this week. I started two discussions hours ago and I still haven't got any reply. I'm not really insulted by it though I feel a bit sad that no one posted a comment because I always try to write comments or my own discussions to the best that I can. I'm wondering if there is at least someone who have noticed my post and read it or if others didn't like my post that's why they didn't put a comment or something. But I'm not disheartened, I'll still start new discussions and try to be active here at mylot as much as I can. =)
