Hi godloves, welcome to have fun here at myLot. Try to respond to more discussions from different users, or to write new discussion regularly. As what I know, many users here like to make friends with people who are active. Apart from this you could request users here you come across with common interests as friends. We have more to share and chat if having common interests.
I like to make friends with people who like to leave comment in my response box. I enjoy the great fun to have mutual interaction here with friends. It's so monotonous to chat with friends without any response

You can see them participating the activities here frequently, like answering or writing discussions, leaving comments on posts which interest them. Go to the bottom of the page and visit the FAQs and guidelines to learn more about myLot. It's worth and beneficial as well for you just to spend some of your time to explore every drib and drab relevant to myLot.
I think most of the users need friends with common interests so that they have more to share with. We can find this from the types or topics of the discussions started. The number beside the username is user rating. The number will go up instantly if there are two responses answering our new discussion, or we have added a comment in the first response box. The user rating number will go up as well after responding to a discussion which we have never joined in yet. The number will raise too if leaving a comment in others response box, even if you are one of the existing responses in that discussion.
I'm sluggish myLot user. If you have curiosity to know who is the top user (by user rating) of this site, go to the myLot population followed by users by rating. Hopefully sharing all these here with you would engage your interest to learn more and to have fun here

Thanks for being my friend here on the lot and replying to more than one of my posts.
Little by little I am figuring a bit more out. Sure helps to have someone with experience guiding me and giving great pointers. I have noticed that with few a few more friends I am getting a few more repliess.
With more replies we can make more loot?

Hola Ikbooi, excellent food for thought...thank you! How do tell if a person is active. Anything you want to share as to why you think some here may not want or accept freind requests? What is the number by you user name for? You have the highest one Ive noticed? :)

I seem to be getting a lot of add requests as of late so I simply accept regardless of how many posts they have or how long they've been with Mylot. I figure that it doesn't matter as I'm here to help others as well so by adding them I'm giving them access to even more topics to write on. (Or so I hope).
The other way I add friends is by looking at other people who respond to various topics and add them.

You could just request for people to be your friend. Just ask people, most people are willing to add you as friend. I know that I get a lot of request and its mainly from people that I have responded to their post. You could do that as well as the person said above. If that person seems interesting to you, then send them on along a friend request.

hi, if you ask some questions to fellow lotters and the answers they give are similar to your thoughts then why not request them as your friend in the friend box. hope this helps. also you can read through other peoples questions and answers and think 'hey that person is fun; and request them as a friend. good luck!

I thought Mylot is all about sharing an open mind with like minded people but not just to show x number of friends on their friend list. As you share ur thoughts, the friend list should grow, depends on what u share.
