What to eat?

I wake up early, and it's cold breeze outside. It's nearly Christmas season! Mother prepared Champorado for us. It's a delicious native Filipino recipe. Mixture of glutinous rice, water, cocoa powder, and sugar. Served hot with a swirl of evaporated milk on top.

Sounds like Cream of Rice! Great for breakfast or before bed snack.

it's chocolate porridge in English. Soft-boiled rice and flavored with cocoa, mixed with sugar and milk.

Champorado delight - Champorado with Alaska Condensed Milk
I love champorado This is why although this is a 9 month old discussion I still want to share how I love this breakfast or snack food. I love it when thick and sticky and with strong blend of cocoa and most espcially when served with either Alaska Evaporated. or Condensed milk. Hmmm, yummy!!! Wanna take a scoop! Here is a photo you can feast on!

Champorado - Rice with cocoa, milk, sugar
Champorado tastes good in the morning especial on cold days like what we are experiencing now. I love champorado and add a little milk on it too..it taste delicious. Not fun of eating breakfast these days..don't have time to prepare a real meal. But if my mom makes champorado in the morning, i surely will take time to eat it even if i will be late from work :D

wow, champorado! that sounds like a delicious idea! we love ours with powdered milk; when you mix it, the clumps that form sort of explodes in your mouth. yum!

I'm also a Filipino. I love champorado myself, but i like it more when i use full creamed powder milk. And I love eating it in the morning, much better with dried fish(tuyo), hahaha! So, yummy! And i also like cold champorado, i put it in the refrigerator and when it's already cold and ready, i put lots of full creamed milk and eat it! hmmm...feels like i'm hungry right now...
