Why we cannot edit our discussion

I dont know whether I can edit our discussion or not, today I posted one discussion and after publishing it, I found some mistakes in it, I wanted to edit it but I was unable to found some edit option on that page. I need suggestions from senior and other active members.
Do you faced this problem, what should be done to ask admin to have edit option, just for one time after publishing it....:)

No, there's no facility for editing a post once it's posted. This is a question that has been put to admin several times and they have rejected any idea of providing an edit facility. If you have errors, you can always post a second time correcting them, but if its just a few spelling errors, don't bother about it - we all do it!

Yeah I also think that if you are reposting it then you are putting both at risk of deletion. But I think this idea is also not good if you are reporting abuse some of your post, this may effect on your reputation, I think this idea is good that if you have some little mistakes then its ok otherwise, you can repost with some new topic or else
But my post which I have posted have not responded by friends and the reason is this that it has mistakes and I am unable to edit those...:)

Unfortunately mylot doesn't have the option to edit and we are left with no choice but to accept typo errors or what ever mistakes we made and be open to the same from other discussions. But you can make use of the preview response button before posting your discussions.

Yeah, I think it is good idea to use preview but if in preview you are unable to recognize your mistake and after posting you come to know that this was your fault then what at that time would we have to do, ll just go with it???

Yes you are right if they want to improve they should allow it but I think it is better that they are not allowing, and for me, I have seen a lot of improvement in my spelling mistakes and other things and I think no edit option is also contributing in this regard for my improvement...
Thanks for response, and I think they should do a type of votiing on this between members so they could come to know whether this thing should be allowed or not...

I think it is good that admin has not given the option for editing the discussion that have been posted .. Mylot is prefers quality of the discussion.
Admin has given an option of preview..so before you post the discussion you can verify if everything that you have put is correct or not.
If you are frequently making mistakes I would say you should use preview option before posting the discussion.

And this is the problem, I am not making frequent mistakes and thats why I am not looking into preview but I think it is not wise to have edit option, at least this option should be there for few minutes so that we could able to change it if we want, any how it is my point of view....

You know before I experienced same situation but unable to find any option to edit until I realized that mylot admin will consider it same error as spelling, grammar and others including your asking as not big deal as long as others may understand what meaning... so sorry. see you around

this had happened to me few weeks ago. I posted a topic and when i noticed i had been missing some important notes, i wanted to edit it but there was no edit button to push. I felt so bad about my topic. It sounded as it was posted in a hurry and therefore appeared short changed. I wanted so much to post the right one so i hit (!) instead and reported my own discussion to admin due to a duplicate discussion which a violation. Admin deleted such discussion...

Yes, because before this, I did not make any mistake and now during one post I made a mistake, you may have listen this thing that Human always learn from their mistakes, so same is the case over here, before mistake I did not notice it but after making a mistake I realized that I cannot edit my post...ohhh

It happens to me almost all the time. I don't also check my post before posting it, that's my problem too. Well anyway, it's good that they don't place any edit option after posting it so they can see if your discussion or comment is always following their guidelines and that is with quality. Main learning here is we should use the preview button below so we won't be having a lot of mistakes when posting.

I find that it would be nice to be able to edit but to a certain extent glad that we can't as then the quality of this site would be at risk.
Everyone above me did a great job at explaining on how to go about deleting. So the only thing I can advise myself and others is to be careful before we post.

i have thought about this in the past but never found anything. Im sure that we all make spelling errors but i am also sure that people who read our discussions or responses will still understand what we mean.
