Why Do People Think They Are Higher Than Other?

I hate boastful individual but I can't avoid to mingle people around me who are boastful and feeling high! I like humble people but sad to know only few people have an attitude like this. Why people consider himself/herself better than the other? Why they can't resist it and instead of being boastful they convert their attitude for being humble. Is it the nature of human beings?

Hi julyteen: I think that's the way some people act to feel important. Everybody want to be accepted I think and this behaviour it's a way to say: hey people, I'm important, I am the best, etc. I hate it too. People should value the work of the others and not consider themselves better than the rest of the world. If you are good at something people will recognize your work so you don't have to be like that. Thanks for sharing with us your thoughts. Have a nice day. ALVARO

i think they were raised that way to be better than everyone else. unfortunately, no one is better than anyone else. we are all equals. it is unfortunate that some people behave this way. it really shows their character which isn't very good. they usually mingle with people who think they do. it turns me off.

Yes I am also encounter these people when I was working in an office. Colleagues who seem to be so helpful now and then turns out to be the one who stab you later. However, now I am working in a call center I found peacefulness which I don't know how to describe but is a happiness I want.

There are a lot of people who'd do anything to be under the spot light. I've dealt with people like these. They're actually fun to be with. It's much more fun if eventually they fall down cuz of something they said. They're entitled on everything they say, y'know, and you can use that against them. :)

Hi julyteen! This is the sad reality, unfortunately. People who boast usually have a complex. Boasting allows them to make up for whatever they don't have. It's a make-belief, an escape. But the truth on such lies can be more painful actually.

We have to understand sometimes that we cannot please anybody. As long as they do not hurt you or abuse you, let them realized by ignoring them and be happy. In my case, as I am going to put my experiences as an example,I met different kind of people with different type of personality, races, and culture. As taking up a psychology course in college and now a criminal justice student,my school is my foundation of all in knowing them much. They are my classmates, friends, and schoolmates. There is a case also that I was misunderstood by someone.I just have to think that professionalism counts even though I am still a student.I believed that I can handle those people.I have to be happy and assuming that whoever I got hurt as they think, well, we can still be friends and best of friends by knowing their personality and attitudes as you saw them everyday in school.I just have to think that I can change them in a way of letting them realized what they are doing, and by that the world will be better.

hi julyteem those people that do that like to lord it over others and I think perhaps they are missing something in their own lives that makes them try to think they are better than others. Perhaps its a sort of envy or jealousy. This makes me remember a f unny movie called School for scoundrels. In this they had a class called oneupsmanship. and taught how to always make people think you are smarter than them. It was a funny movie but in real life people who are always telling you that they are better than you at anything you try to say you did. they cannot stand having anyone achieve more than they have. not the nature of human beings that I have seen. I have been blessed with ordinary people that do not practice oneupsman ship at all.

Yea that's the reality in this cyber world. Better ignore that kind of person who is so boastful to himself. Knowing the fact that he/she just only posing others. And you cannot avoid that kind of person in this cyber world. If he/she flames you, flame him\her in return. Its just a matter of give and take. That's all, hope it will help.

I think most of the time, people act like this because they were raised to think like this. Other times, they do something that gives them a boost of confidence. It is quite annoying, and I don't think anyone should think they are better than anyone else. But I guess it's just life! It happens.

Unfortunately yes. That's the very human nature of some. And without wisdom, really it's very hard to be humble esp when you are achieving something that makes you famous. But don't worry, everyone who exalts himself will be humbled by God. :-) Have a good day!
