How do you like growing your nails?

Since I was a child until I reached my teenage years, I have always trimmed my nails. I kept them look neat and clean. I hate even if it grew a little. I always tend to cut it down.
But last year, I thought about growing my nails. I've never thought I've liked it. But it seems fine for me now. Then right after the beginning of this yea, I decided to trim it down again.
Last month, I got lazy on trimming my nails again. I haven't cut my nails for a month now. I just trimmed a small part to keep it in shape. And people keeps on noticing them.

I absolutely hate having short nails. I think they're ugly and uncomfortable. I try to avoid cutting my nails as long as I possible can. I only trim them when they start breaking down short then I cut them to all the same length and let them grow out again. When I could afford it, I used to get silk wraps to maintain them and they got to be extremely long and I loved it.
My nail just broke a few days ago and I cut them all off and I can't stand it. I can't wait for them to grow back.

Wow! I never really met anyone who LOVES long nails as much as you do! I just find growing nails very fascinating for me. But there are times that I hate them!

Growing up I actually didn't know very many women who kept their nails short. My mother always had long, elegant nails and all her business friends always had beautifully manicured nails. I always felt short nails were masculine, stubby and very unattractive. I also personally find it very uncomfortable, even painful, to have trimmed nails.

Oh my word! We are exactly opposite - well, the people around us are opposite! I have known only few people who really grow their nails! And I think they are too few that I can even count them with my fingers!

When I was younger I always played the piano and also the viola and part of being able to play those two instruments meant that I had to have short fingernails. That said, now that I'm adult, I've still always kept my fingernails short because it is a habit that I've always had. I really can't stand it when they start to get a little bit long because I feel like it inhibits my ability to type which in turn reduces my productivity.

Yeah.. I've felt the "reducing of productivity" on the first days of growing my nail. But I eventually get through it. I enjoyed it for now. But ofcourse,
I can't recommend this for moms who works 24/7 in the house. There's not much house chores to do when you have long nails!

I can't imagine any guy wearing long nails either. If I saw one, I would definitely think he's a gay. but really, I can't remember seeing anyone so it's really just right for you to keep it that way.

I'm not really "growing" my nails, since I've liked them long ever since I can remember myself. My mother used to clip them in my sleep because I wouldn't let her during the day. I feel like I have no nails at all if they're short. So I just don't clip them that often. However, they sometimes break and then I have to clip them. But I usually file them to correct the shape and polish them to look pretty. I don't keep them very long though...not witch-like.

Hahaha! I laughed out loud over the witch-like, sort of a guilty laugh. But I trimmed them well now, not so short. Just the right size to make my fingers look long and kind of pretty

Hi
We all know that nails should be trimmed periodically for sanitary purpose. Since i was a child my mom always tells me to trim it. Which i did until a year ago. Just out of curiosity on how long can my nails grow i started not to trim them. Then it grows. Then couple of months went by until it stopped growing, but it started to harden. I don't know what to think or how to react on it. Maybe because im not that healthy that im skinny. At first i just ignore it thinking that it will take time to grow more because its pretty much long. But a year after, it didn't grow, it just harden. So i decided to cut it. The time i cut it, i'm getting used to my normal nails again.
and thats that.
Just sharing.

Hahahaha! Wow! That's quite a story! Yay! I believe that there's a certain length where nails actually stopped growing.

I never like long nails so I always keep mine trimmed. It's much more convenient because I don't have to worry if it breaks . Plus, I have a baby, I don't want to accidentically scratch her or anything. So short nails, hainds down

Yes, you are right. You know, I love babies but I'm still a single lady yet I always love seeing my friends' babies but have been so scared holding them even if I want to so bad because I'm afraid my long nails will scratch their delicate skin.

My nails do not grow at hardly at all, although I wish they did, I keep them neat and clean and as of late I've been paining them quite often, which is new for me and right now I am wearing a color called Pink Promenade Creame by *NYC and Purple Pizzazz Frost also by* NYC. I envy people that are able to grow their nails, I've tried all sorts of things and they just don't grow.

Thanks! I want to excuse myself by saying that I'm an indoor person - I rarely go outside so I don't get much dirt BUT I know and believe as well that germs can be everywhere so I really gotta be careful and maintain cleanness.

Yay! I've been there and boy, do I cry for pain! But I get and moved on now, so I'm quite enjoying and trying to savor the fact that I can grow them now and I'm just so happy that I can't get enough of it!

I tried growing my nails for the first time last year but I had to trim them off due to work-related reasons. I really liked it before since I could apply nail polish or nail art which made me feel sexy somehow. hehe. Just keep them growing as long as keep your nails clean all the time.

I will!! Thanks! Staying at home all the time helps me keep them clean. And whenever I'm outside, I make sure to wash them in every possible moment to keep them look vibrant and fresh!

Just like you i have always trimmed my fingernails and keep it short, clean and neat. Just this month out of curiosity i let it grow and didn't trim it down. I even have manicures on it because i find it cute. But the other day, i decided to cut it short again because it's really not good to have long nails. It doesn't look clean. Germs easily can get inside it and we can get a lot of viruses from it even if we wash our hands. So now i think i will have to stick to short, clean and neat fingernails.

True that! BUT... Haha! I still have to convince myself again and again. Aside from being too lazy on cutting my nails again, I have vowed to myself that I'll never trim it short until next year! A month and few weeks away!

I have to trim my nails because I'm playing the violin. When the nails are long, they get in the way. Before that, I would grow them long enough so that when I have a manicure, the nails would look a nice. I still have them painted, but they look more like those of a tween's.

When I was younger, I liked to wear my natural nails long. Now I hate having natural long nails. I wear fake nails whenever I'm in the mood for long nails.
