it is the act of putting off actions or tasks to a later time....[wikipedia]
I have lived my life in procrastination, maybe that's why I am not very successful in anything I do. Procrastination a.k.a. the manana habit or laziness to put it simply. How do you think can I overcome this bad habit? I've been trying many times but still I'm doing it. I get distracted easily by tv,friends,sleep,etc...I don't get anything done on the time I want it to be done...

don't worry lady 1993, you're not alone. I've been facing procrastination for a year now. and i also don't like it. I've never been like this before. I hate it. as for now, i want to get rid of it. maybe, i'd be doing doing something that needs to be done starting next week. lol
we need courage and strong determination to get rid of it. and we really need to will ourselves to get pass to it. :-)

I am also terribly good at procrastination. It's been my problem even when I was studying. I just justified my self by saying that I'm the crammer type, and I couldn't absorb anything I studied days or weeks or months before. It was really just an excuse. But, I'll change this. I will. Maybe tomorrow.

I'll tell you in a minute. No. That was my attempt at humor. Sorry. You are probably a phlegmatic personality type. They are very likable, but do tend to procrastinate. I recommend not being overly concerned about it, focusing more on what you are good at and try you best to work on your procrastination by completing your assignments on time. If you are making your deadlines, you really have no procrastination problem. If, however, you find yourself not meeting deadlines, then you need to work a little harder to complete things on time.=)

oh i procrastinate a lot too. and i'm not proud of it.
it's a very bad habit that makes us sort of self-destruct. we become lazy, we don't accomplish anything, then we hate ourselves for that. that habit has caused a lot of trouble to me, but not irreparable ones. so i guess i'm still ok. i don't lose to it all the time anyway.
there really is no other solution but a strong resolve upon yourself to change. your weakness is none other than yourself. you have to make a decision that you're not going to procrastinate anymore, and believe that you can do it. we can do this!;D

I have always procrastinated terribly. I just always put everything off until the last minute. Usually I pull it all off no problem but once in awhile my bad habit of procrasting causes problems where I am late doing something that really needed to be done. Right now I procrastinated in getting divorced papers filed. If I had done it then I would be officially divorced as of January. I wish I had gotten around to doing it then because I really dont know when I will get time to do it now.

I am a procrastinator as well but I don't put off important things. I put off small things like getting grocery and other small stuff but if I have to complete and submit some assignment at a certain time then I make sure to get my task done in time. I would suggest you to write a list of the tasks that you are required to complete and then keep the list handy, so that you are always reminded of the workload. Also you should have the will power to not put off things for next time. Don't worry it's never too late. So you can start setting things right starting at the moment and I am sure you'll regain whatever you think you have lost.

hi lady,
if i do that, i would find myself without a job.
things would pile up and then i would end up with so much back log.
this has been a good training for me, not to let work hang but to finish them as soon as they arrive.
hope you do better and stop the manana habit.
you'll see good results and feel more at peace with yourself.

According to michael jordan, in order for you to get anything done you have to expect something from yourself. Don't focus on procrastination. Focus on what you expect yourself to become. You'll find your way from there.

Really, if you want to get things done then you should have the courage to do it. It is always your decision to do or not to do. What I do, I write it on a notepad so and put it on my bedside so that I could always remember it. It takes a lot of courage though! go for it! you can do it! its just a matter of realizing! ;)
