OMG! I am drunk now, the only thing we can do during our fee time specially dayoff time is to drink. Although it's not allowed here but we still drink alcohol. We drink alcohol to oust our homesicknesses. We are away from our family and no night life here in Saudi Arabia. We can't go out for any drinking session. Better somebody sell us alcohol. I don't want to drink but because most of our friends drink, there's no choice except to be with them. Are you always drink to relieve your homesickness and stress?

Homesickness is really very bad and the worst thing is that you are doing, I am also far from my home since two years and but I never drink to relieve my self from homesickness, I always call them, talk to my father, mother and espicially my younger brother and sister, talking with them always brings fun and it is really very good to talk to them,
I also call my friends back at my home town and get the news from them, it looks to me that there is no change if we are there or not, no one cares about it, if we are there or not, so good thing is to concentrate on your work and chat with your friends online and enjoy with friends in healthy activities, it ll be a great fun for you and your friends....:)
Have a nice day as your weekend already passed in KSA....:)

I always send messages to all my family in the Philippines almost everyday if I am not busy with my work. Life here is different, you can't go out anywhere because of fear. Saudi people are harmful specially to Filipinos specially when you are alone. That is why, most of the time we prefer to stay in the room than roaming around.
Second thing, the temperature here. It's too hot the passed few months. It's better now, the temperature started cold.

Can't you guys play pusoy or tong=its instead? Or stay online with us mylotters? Throw the bottle and grab a book to read. Sing a song, learn to play the guitar. Gosh, I was told it was nightmarishly lonely, but hey, the web cam can bring you home. Use it!

That is why I spend most of my time online so that I can make myself busy. What happened last night was not my priority to relieve my stress. I prefer to to post here to relieve my stress and homesick.
Sometimes we play posoy and tong-its but the head of the HR who is a Filipino caught us and he don't want us to involve in gambling because it will cause us trouble some of my colleagues loss alot of money because of playing the cards.
I talk to my family every week and we used the webcam to see each other live but for me is not enough.

Buy a guitar then and learn the chords. It is never too late to learn guitar music. And when you finally get to have a vacation, you can surprise your family with a few songs.

I think you need to seek some professional help. It is not good for you to be drinking because you are homesick or even stressed. It's just going to cause more problems for you in the long run. I suggest you get a new group of friends because to me it sounds like you have some peer pressure going on here. This is also not good and if they were your friends they wouldn't pressure you into drinking. There is lots of alternatives that you can find other than drinking.

julyteen this is an unhealthy choice and I would say you do have choices hon, as at the end of the day when you friends are home and nestled in their beds they will not be there for you to deal with your homesickness.
Please try and keep that in mind. As difficult as it may seem you have to try and keep yourself busy as over drinking can lead to some big problems that you certainly do not want to be winded to your family back home.
Please try and skype, im text and or call when you feel this way, before you know it you will be back home and or done with your studies and life will return to normalcy. Good Luck to you with all this.
