Did you ever wished that you're a bit taller or smaller? Are you contended with your height? Does it affect you for being small or tall? Some people i know, including me, are not contented. My girl friends who are taller than me wishing that they're a bit smaller cause they find it hard to find a partner taller than them. Some who are not blessed with height envy those who are taller. I wished i am a bit taller than my partner.
So, have you ever wished that you were taller or not? Have you ever had a partner taller than you? How did you deal with it?

hi simone!
i am already contented and happy with my height. but when i am in elementary, i wish i'm a bit shorter , hehe because i am always mistaken older for my age that time!
but as i aged i begin to appreciate my height especially when i saw the benefits that i got in being taller than average. its an advantage when i am applying for a job that i prefer.
i remember some people that i know who are short, they always said that they wish they are taller because they have problems in getting a job.

Hello, CK. How tall are you if you don't mind? It shows that you really enjoy your height. Love it. Let me guess, during your elementary days your last in the line or almost? Have you tried applying as an FA? It's one of my dream job if only i'm a bit taller though. Thanks for your time.

Most of us are never contented of what we have. If we have straight hair, we want it curly. If we have curly hair, we want it straight. Same goes for our height. I am 5'2", and I must admit there were so many times I wished I were taller, especially when I see tall women who exude with so much confidence. But then again, I realized I'm only torturing myself with these thoughts and wishes. So I eventually accepted my height as it is. When I want to look taller, I just wear heels, simple. My boyfriend is around 6 feet tall and he finds my height adorable, so I'm no longer self-conscious. So I can confidently say that now I don't have any problems at all with being short and petite. In fact, I'm loving it.

hahaha yes, you are so right. As human, we never get contented. My hair is perfectly straight and I've been thinking what if i curl my hair. That is nice. Good thing you found beauty in your height and your boyfriend appreciated it.

I'm a bit on the shorty size (been the same height since early teen years), at only 5 ft. 3/4 inches.
But I don't mind. Makes it getting through narrow places more I suppose. And I grew up as a gymnast, which made it convenient.
It does make you look more slim and model like when you are tall, but I'm just fine and dandy with my height, so there! ;o)

I am no longer tall like I used to be and I am glad for it. I am older at the age of 54 and have gone through menopause. Because of menopause I shrank 3 1/2 inches. I have been tested, bone density and all, and everything is okay. I find myself fortunite that I shrank.
The reason I say that is because I was too tall. I was 5'10 1/2" tall which is tall for a female. I always had a problem with my height because of clothes. Not because of feeling tall or big or uncomfortable with myself, but because I had a problem with pants.
I had to go to stores for tall women to buy dress pants or even leggings or sweats. While other people were paying $10 for a pair of sweats or leggings I was having to pay $100. Where others were paying $25 for a pair of nice dress slacks I was paying $200. All because I needed the length in the pants. The pants that were sold in cheaper stores were always too short for me. My ankles would show, they were that short.
Now I can buy my pants anywhere and I can buy those cheap $10 sweats and leggings and $15 jeans. I can buy those $25 dress slacks. Now they are all long enough for me and in some cases, like jeans, I have to sometimes hem them because they are too long. Amazing what 3 1/2" can do.
I have a physical check up every year and my bone density test is part of it and they say I shouldn't shrink anymore since my menopause is finished. Thanks goodness because now at 5'7" I am short enough and don't want to be shorter.
Cheers and Happy mylotting my friend
Chris

In my case it is a possitive thing as my health is fine, went through all the tests and all. Not all women shrink that much but most, according to my doctors, do shrink about an inch.
Can you not hem your pants yourself. It really isn't that hard to do, and can be done by hand, doesn't have to be done by machine. I hem my daughters pants when needed and it isn't hard but I understand that some people can't do it.

I don't know if it is positive or negative to shrank 3 1/2 inches. But i hope it won't affect your health. I just hope someday i will not shrink because i was not blessed with height. I may look like dwarf. I do also have problem in buying clothes especial with pants cause i have to go to the tailoring after to cut the length. I have to pay double also. I pay less, but i have to spend for adjustment. Still the same.
Thank you for sharing your experience.

I have a height problem actually i am very small for my age, but im contented with it. I accepted what God has given me. Although it's really hard to find jobs sometimes because they have a height qualification. My friends are more or less has the same height as me so i don't have any problems with it..lucky for me huh! And my bf is not that tall either. I prefer my bf to be taller though but i love my bf now so i don't care anymore..i haven't have problems dealing with a taller bf because my bf now is my first and only bf. I wished before that i was taller, but i guess there are a lot more reasons to be shorter. Like drivers in the jeepney thinks im still a student so my fare is lesser sometimes..hehe.

Hi there. So, you mean you didn't reach 5'2"? petite is Cute. Well, we always wanted to have a taller partner but when love hit us we do have no choice but to accept that person. I smiled when you said " drivers in the jeepney thinks I'm still a student so my fare is lesser sometimes..hehe." You have the advantage, you get student's fare all the time. Anyway, you still have problem in finding a job that doesn't require to be at least 5'2" in height?

I am a nurse professionally, although height doesn't any more matter these days to some hospitals, there are still some who looks at the height especially when you wish to go to another country and apply for a nurse. Height really is a must for some hospitals.

hi simonelee! as a younger girl i really wished to be shorter as i grew tall very fast and was the tallest girl in my school classes for a long time. now that i have become a grown woman, i have learned to appreciate my height, for one reason because it is easier to appear slimmer when taller! also, my husband has encouraged me by telling me he thinks tall women are beautiful and sexy! i feel more elegant and proud of myself now, as a tall person, and stand tall and proud! i think whether one is naturally tall or small, or in between, we should be proud of who we are and thankful for the blessings we have.

Most people that I get to meet find me tall. They often assume that I am somehow better than them. Thinking that I am smarter or have a high position at some office. Others would mistake me as someone older but, when we get to know our age differences, they'd get surprised that I am younger than them.
I don't really worry about people's assumptions due to my height most of the time. It sometimes goes to my advantage and when they seem to be expecting things, I just try my best on whatever it is that needs to be done.
Now, my problem with my height would be on travelling. Here in my country, not having your own car, we often utilize public transport vehicles whenever we need to go to different places. Unfortunately, they are all tight in space.
In a tricycle (a motorcycle with a sidecar attached on its right side), I would have to lower my head so that I can fit inside while being seated since the roof is not that high and the seats are not also spacious enough. When your seated with a person with broad shoulders, it gets more uncomfortable.
We also have Jeepnies or those military jeeps that got modified to accommodate more passengers. Its roof is also low most of the time so I have to lower my head too, unless I get to sit beside the driver. The worry about that seat beside the driver though would be the space for my knees as the dashboard is often too close.
Then we have buses. The seats are too close to each other and I have to really find some space for my knees or else, I have to raise and lean them on the back of the next seat in front of me. Being seated with broad shouldered passengers is also inconvenient, especially for those seats that they say should have three passengers.
Vans can also be troublesome. Persistent drivers insist that the seats are for four passengers, even though the recommended is three.
Well, that's how my height gets affected by these public transport vehicles. (-_-")
Yet, even when I have mentioned all such inconveniences with things that I have to deal with when I travel, I don't wish to be smaller. I am satisfied with my height. I would rather have those transport vehicles be modified so that they can accommodate different passengers with different sizes.
With my height, I have never had a partner who was taller than me. But, height doesn't really bother me when it comes to that. Be she tall or not that tall, I won't be bothered. Hopefully, she wouldn't be bothered too on that aspect, whoever and wherever she might be..

As much as it is okay to have car, I don't really fancy having to look for parking spaces or get stuck in the road 'cause of the traffic most motorist have to endure.
I would much consider a motorbike, not the usual ones that you can see almost anywhere, but those that are close to those that you might see on MotoGPs.
Sadly, even though I can get a driver's license, I can't afford a car at the moment. Wouldn't like to trouble my parents for something that I should deal with by myself.
So I could only just work with what I can when I travel. When riding a jeep I usually choose the seat next to the driver as most of them are spacious than the long benches. At buses, either the seats behind the driver or the one in the middle at the very back row. Still have problems with broad shoulders though.
You're welcome (^_^")

Hi,Oderog! How tall are you? If your height is average for male in your country then there's nothing to worry about. But, if you are shorter than others and you are contented with it's nice to know you are fine with it.
@ Artnoble123: Cause men like to be superior and girls like taller guys cause it makes them secure and safe, a man who is ready to protect his girl. My friends like taller guys, they find it macho.

Well, I want to be a bit of both depending on the situation. But girls are the last thing that would change my opinion about myself. When I am in an overcrowded bus, I feel like it would be better if I were a little smaller. My head touches the roof and it is really very irritating. Then in a train at rush hour I always feel blessed because I always get plenty of oxygen from above while the smaller passengers struggle for it below. I also wish if could be more tall when I call someone from among a crowd. Being taller always makes you more prominent. Most of the mirrors are located at a height which makes it quite uncomfortable for me to look at them. Sometimes I feel they are hung too low and can surely give you back ache.

hahahaha that's justify your answer. Are you 6ft tall? If you are, people around you may look dwarf even if their height are average. If you're going to own a hose definitely it would look like a mansion.taller people can't seat in front cause the one behind you will definitely complain, right?lol have you ever problem with that during your school days?

Hello Simonelee,
Oh! How I wish i reach the average height of a Filipina. I am always in front if someone says find your height, arrange yourselves according to height! Feels great coz i never had problem in identifying it but feels bad if someone says oh you miss to grow up! Ouch! its quiet annoying but then most of my teachers before and friends now says you are small but terrible! Well, Is it a compliment for a shorter one to excel? Many prominent individual have same height of me just 4"11".Am proud of my height but i often use high hill shoes for me not to look upward with my companions. For this i look smarter well, high hills helps look good on women! I hate to enter public comfort rooms and places with mirror being hang inconsiderate with people at my height. I remember, most of my suitors are 5"6 and above. Oh, why taller men like smaller women?

"I am always in front if someone says find your height, arrange yourselves according to height!" I burst into laughter when i read this. So funny and cute experience.Everything flashback. When i was in grade school we used to tease our classmate because every flag ceremony she always hide behind our back cause she always lead the national anthem which she don't like. She's the smallest in the campus. So, most of your shoes are high heels? 3 inches?

youa're funny! So, what's your height if you don't mind. It's okay to wear heels but to wear it everyday it's tiring and uncomfortable. At your age you still have a chance if you exercise. Athletes don't stop in getting taller because they exercise everyday. So,there's still hope if you have discipline.

I sometimes wish I'm taller whenever I see models in person or in TV. But whenever I'm with my friends, I feel lucky that I'm the tallest. I'm only 5'5 but I wish to be like 5'7 or 5'8. If I'm that tall, I'm really contented.

I am five feet two inches tall although I was somewhat tall as a child and was told I would be tall like my father who is over six foot…Well, everyone was wrong because I need a stool in order to reach the high shelves in my pantry but I can wear high heels without a problem. I don’t mind my height and I quite like the fact that most men are a lot taller than me! I think we have to make the most of what we were given, including our height! In regards to the high heels to be honest I rarely wear them!

No my friend I don't have any problem with my height, i am 6'2", my wife is 5'8", am taller than her, most husbands are taller than the wives, though there are exceptions, a tall wife will never feel comfortable with a short height husband in the streets or in public places, in home, private life it is okey..
Thank you so much for this discussion.

Taller or shorter is a big question in matching a partner.
It is really true.
As what I heard, you can stop getting taller by having an injection.
This was a suggestion from a doctor to my nephew.
However, I prefer to grow by nature.
I believe the God has arranged everything for us.
When you have reach the right time, then it should be the time for you to meet your partner. It should be the time for you to marry with your partner too.
Just pray more to get the right person. ha! ha! ha!

So what are this thing to stop you from getting taller? I hope there's also a way to make us tall. I guess there's only rare case of being gigantic compared dwarfism. There's always a right time, what we only need is patients.
