Bart there are some things you can substitute on. BUT mashed potatoes? Why would you want to? Mashed potatoes are supposed to be buttery, milky, and a little lumpy. THose are real down home like grandma used to make mashed spuds. You can add garlic, cheese, and anything else for that matter. but soy milk? NO. I wouldnt. good luck dl

hi bart yes indeed bu t it wou ld be better if its not flavored soy milk like vanilla or chocolate soy. I have used plain soy in making mashed potatoes and put some margarine in and it was really delicious too. oh dear now I am drooling thinking of good mashed potatoes.

i dont eat mushed potato but i do drink soy milk, my wife eats mushed potatoes but does not drink soy milk har har har. i dont know if she can taste the difference if someone will put soy milk than just milk. but i guess if you will try to experiment then why not give it a go. soy milk is healthy but it taste different than the usual milk that you will put on mashed potato. why not give it a try then tell me what the taste is.
