HI Acey,
It happens to us all at times even those of us who have been here for a while. Still, you should go in and read the guidelines and FAQs for a better idea of what is and is not ok. The ones that you see that haven't been deleted, well, they just haven't been caught. Mylot admin. can't catch everything and they rely on us to report these things so if it goes unreported and unnoticed then that person just lucked out.

There is only one way to avoid receiving them - stay within the Guidelines
They are automatic and are supposed to help us so that we learn what type of discussions not to post and not to respond on.
If you see other 'poll' type topics then you can report them using the '!' icon. They are a violation.

acey76, you are free and even encouraged to report any discussion that you feel violates the guidelines. I don't always catch violations so it is quite helpful when users do this. The discussions I removed were in fact polls which are survey like discussions such as "what is your favorite color" or "what is the most discussions you have starter" or "what is your favorite pizza topping", etc.
Don't let it discourage you. No one is going to flog you at the whipping post over it. Just try to think through your discussions a little further. Try to come up with more in depth topics and write them out in as much detail as possible.
Hope this helps.

I am sorry to hear. When I first a member here, I started discussion questions and I always had mine deleted and I was mad, sad that others had the same questions and it was still around then I quit using myLot for a few weeks because I wasn't earning much for just responding to discussions. I enjoy creating and responding but if I can only respond then I didn't like it.. then I gave myLot another chance and I was just more careful about posting discussion topics. I read it to make sure people could add their views on it. Usually, use the word What is/are your view(s).. on ________________ (fill in the blank) That helped me a lot because that is considered as a discussion question. GOOD LUCK and see you around!

i think it is very simple... stay within mylot guidelines and policies and don't post any discussions that violate the rules... that way, you can be sure that your discussions won't get deleted and you won't get anymore of such notification in the future... take care and have a nice day...

The best advice I can give you si to read the guidelines, so you know what you can and can't do in here. The guidelines are there fro everyone to follow, however, not everyone reads them before they start posting, and when they get the notifications that their discussion was deleted, then they wonder why. The biggest thing is not to post referral links in here as well. It happens to all of st one time or another so don't feel bad. At least you know now, that poll discussions aren't really discussions at all. It really is easy not to violate the guidelines if you know what not to do. I have had lots of posts deleted as the discussions I responded to were deleted. I just don't let it bother me and just go on, as it isn't all that much anyway. Just hang in there, and you will do alright. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
