I would love to chat with people from other nations. I have a social networking site where I communicate with a lot of people from other countries. I would have to say that I love chatting with them because I want to learn their cultures. I love spending time talking to them because they really makes sense with the exchange of thoughts we are having. What makes them different from my own nationality is that most of the people from my homeland will just chat with you if they are able to meet you in person. I really am not comfortable meeting people here in my own country because most or almost all of them just wanted a hook up instead of a pure friendship. Then they will just ask for your mobile number and then will send you several text messages. From then on after I have given my number to a fellow Filipino who is very stubborn, I do not give my contact details anymore to that site.
How about you guys, do you love to chat with people from other nations / countries? and why?

Hi dear,
Even I like to talk with people from other countries. But I got only one person and she used to talk to me. She is from Philippines and so nice with me and we are good friends for the last 2 years and even today also we had a small conversation. As she is busy with her children's education some time may not get time enough for detailed talks. But she is so nice and is a good friend also.
I would like to tell you that if you don't know well about others, it is not advisable to provide phone numbers. As I said, I got more than 2 years of friendship with this girl and I never asked for her number or anything. We have our mail ids each other and I never talk with a subject if the other person is not interested with. However, I believe that maintain a good friendship with others is a luck and fortune for me. Understand the friends nature is better to keep the relation more strong and long.
Best regards,
Thank-s

I really believe there are. I would rather to talk to them personally if it is here. But I rarely go out because I just want to be alone than to socialize anywhere else.

I definitely agree with you. I should not really provide mobile numbers to them but they really are far from me. And I really give it to people whom I really established my whole amount of trust. Filipinas are really friendly and warm by nature. Too bad she is really busy with her kids and some stuff going on with her. It is good that you still communicate at least. Thank you so much for this nice response. Have a great weekend.

Hi aaron fyzeon: I love to meet people from other countries too. I think this is a nice way to know better the cultures from other countries and to practice another languaje. I have talked with a French girl from months and as you say it's pure friendship. I'm almost sure that we won't never know each other in real life but I enjoy talking with her.

Yes, it's fun to interact with people from other countries and in a way it's kinda like traveling in that you can learn a lot about their cultures and how similar or different they are from people in your country. Of course that is if you get to chat with sensible people. Be careful who you chat with. :)

Thank you for the warning. Yes it is also a nice time I am having if i get to chat with sensible people. It makes my brains really stimulated. I really get bored with people who will just respond to you with "ok", yes, no.. after a very long composition of the words with your message that you will send to him. If that would be the case then I would think he is busy and will just have to chat with him the next time. But if he sees me online, I will be telling him that I am busy chatting with others then. Thank you for the sensible response that you posted. Have a great day.

I find it very interesting to communicate with people of different nationalities and cultures. I also get to travel on my business trips to countries in different parts of the world. I get to meet and work with wonderful people there, always so interesting to learn about the traditions and cultures in different countries. Very friendly and helpful people.

It is good that you have a work that makes you travel much and meet lots of people with different cultures. You will learn from them and by the time that you went back to your country, you would know the difference between yours and the cultures that you have known and make some differentiation of it. Good luck on your future travels and be safe always. THank you for this nice response.

I absolutely relish the opportunity to chat with people from other nations; and have had foreign penfriends since I was fifteen. The reason that it interests me is because - as has been stated by several people - there is such a vast avenue for learning about different cultures. People are inherently the same when it comes to their goals and ambitions; and most want more than a modicum of happiness. Chatting to people from other nations has shown me that; however, it is their journeys - the diversity of them - that fascinates me. From little things like celebrating - or not celebrating - Christmas, to learning to drive, to the relationships and the dynamics of family, to law and order; there are huge differences in just about everything! And, sadly, what I take for granted can often be a luxury to another country's citizen; so learning about the politics and the history of a nation is just as important to me as getting to know the individual.

Absolutely true. You will really learn a lot from them. It is good that the topics you are talking about with them are dynamic. You can talk to them with different topics that is available under the sun. It is also nice for you to know the worth of some things that made you realize that these things are valuable to some other people out there. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience. I didn't had the opportunity to have pen pals before when I was still in highschool and even college. Have a great weekend.

Hi Aaronfy
Yes, I agree with you in some things like chatting with different nationality give you exposure to learn about different cultures and their habits. I think in this way you are not only learning but you make some very good friends too.
But I disagree with your point on the basis of which you say you like to chat with other nationalities, that you are not feeling comfortable to meet with people of your own country because they ll get your number and ll spam you by sms or calls or other things. I enjoy chat with my country mates because they are the persons who know about my problems and with whom I can share what I want to share, they are living in my society and they can understand better what is best in our society, so I think it is also a better policy to chat with your county mates.
I agree that there shall be some drawback too but it is your duty to search for the best and choose the one who to chat or whom not to. There are people like what you explained but you know every person is like that and on the basis of few you cannot blame the whole nation.
So I think it is very good to chat with different nationalities to understand their culture and to promote your culture and thought but it is also good at the same time to chat with your country mates within the same culture.
And last but not least, very good and interesting topic for discussion, love to chat with different nationalities too....:)
Happy Lotting...:)

Thank you for the great response. I will just have to let you know that I am not really against my country men because I also love chatting with them but I just chat with my friends. My true friends whom I really am interacting with personally at times. There had been some warnings about the rape at first dates here in our country so I really am just protecting myself from it. I rarely chat with people who just asks for cam at the first or second conversation. But I dont have a webcam right now so it is just too bad for them. Hehehehe. anyway, I really appreciate your advice and I want to thank you again for that.

hi aaron! i really love talking to people from other nations, i really am into knowing cultures and languages, it excites me knowing and learning new things. i have lots of chat friends on yahoo before but i stopped talking to some people because they were like rude and just wants something. i think you know what i mean.

Yes I know what you mean. Those people really irritates me and just delete them if they continue being so stubborn to get what they want. I really want to know their cultures but just speak some of the well known or common phrases that we use all the time in their translation. But knowing more beyond that then I will have an information overload. I just want to speak to them on how things are going on with their country and with their lives as well. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.

I used to chat with people from other nations on a daily basis from this website, but I'm really not liking it anymore. I find it so hard trying to type out what I mean because they don't understand what I'm saying! I'd rather be talking to them so I can make gestures or some weird hand signal so they get what I'm saying. But when I have to chat with them, it gets so tiring trying to explain what I mean. So, no, I don't really enjoy it.

Oh Thank you for being honest that you do not like chatting with people around the world. Well there would be some language barriers but I am sure they also know how to speak English even in a little way. Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts here. Enjoy mylot.

yes, because chatting with other people is just like a travelling into another places. You can easily ask from them what culture they have for your future reference, and a reference just like a book if you go abroad for a job. And chatting is the best way/chance to get our country to the top. We can build up to them our country.

It is good that we somehow try to adapt their culture if we are already there in their country but if we are on our own then it is just fine for us to know what are the similarities and differences of their culture. Not really necessary to adapt all of those what we know from them. Thank you for the nice response and enjoy the rest of the week.

I have to agree with you. But sometimes you will learn to speak english well on your own if you practice that one over and over again. Yes you may be able to write good english but as we speak, we still have to sound that fluent if we read out loud. or gather our thoughts and deliver it right away in speaking. But that is a good way of practicing too,. Thank you for the nice response.

Before I came to the UK, I used to chat with other people from different countries. I even joined in a chat room and have been regularly active in the discussions and have made friends with the people there as well. Most of them were from the US, UK and Australia. They were all nice and I have learned about the cultural backgrounds where they came from. I actually gave a few of the people I've met online my mobile number and we sometimes exchange text messages like hi and hello. Before I did that I made sure that I get to know the person well first so I know he's trustworthy. You may say that it's a crazy idea because I haven't met him in person yet but I just trusted my instincts. And I'm still good friends with them until now. :) I guess it all depends on who you meet. Anyway, I wish you well on your friendships. :) Good luck and always get to know them first before giving away any contact information. :)
