It's already in the middle of November and 45 days more it's christmas time. Maybe alot of people start listening christmas songs. For me I think it's not the time to listen because it will encourage myself to missed more my family in the country where we live. I am away from them, I don't want to think them when I heard christmas songs because it will add my homesick to all of them.
Are you started listening christmas songs?

Nope, in fact we haven't got to much of them over here. On the other hand in our family Christmas has lost it's true meaning decades ago.

In the last twelve years Christmas lost its touch completely. Why is this exact time? Our parents divorced on the 18th of September in 1998 only four years after 16th birthday. But years before our family started to fall apart. There wasn't any sign of togetherness anymore. Christmas way just another victim of this when all of us realised that there is no real feelings behind the occasion, that in the rest of the year we do think separate and live separate without showing that we care about each other. In short, as our family was gone, so the spirit of Christmas. It should be a day for family and love. Now, where could I find these? After 12 years there is a possibility my brothers and I will be together at our mothers house for Christmas. But I feel this will be just pretending again that everything is allright.

I avoid Christmas music as much as I can! I can't get in the Christmas season as it is! Christmas music doesn't help! I will listen to some here and there while I am in the car on my radio but other then that,I avoid it like it is disease!

I understand what you're feeling right now, I also experienced that before, you know when I was also working abroad. It's hard but for the sake of your family, you have to bear the pain being away from them.
Christmas songs are hardly heard in the Middle East though if you have your own digital files of those, you can always hear it anytime you want, but as you said, it will only add to your feeling of loneliness so better not listen to it.
Here in the Philippines, we normally hears Christmas songs anywhere, the spirit of the holiday season is already here specially when you're in the mall.

It's really really hard if you are away from your family during Christmas season. The happenings you always did will be part of your memories while you are away from them. As what you have said I always think my family as my inspiration so that I will not missed them much. In returned of my sacrifice is the bright future we will have if I will work here. I missed the beautiful lightings in my house during Christmas season. I always stay outside the house while watching our "Beranda" which full of Christmas lights.

No I haven't.. I think it's still a little early. For me the holiday season doesn't start until after Thanksgiving (for us that's the 25th of November). I usually don't even think about Christmas until then!

Thanks giving time also a happy day for most of the Christians. It's a full of happiest moment shared both in a locality, group or in the church. We don't have thanks giving also here as you know Muslims has their own celebrations. They only observe Ramaddan and Hajj.

Hi there July
Both me and my girlfriend started about a week ago to listen to our Christmas list music along with our regular music, and in the last 2 days we switched (or at least my girlfriend did at her computer) to Christmas only songs :)
We will be decorating the tree at her grandma's place where she lives at the moment this weekend since it is an artificial one, and after that is done we will be able to focus on getting some new items to add up for the decorations.

Since I posted this I continue listening Christmas song before I sleep and sometimes my laptop continue playing it until morning. When I woke up in the morning I can hear the song which add up my sleepiness and seems I don't want to rise from my bed but because I need to come early in my office so I don't have choice.
Here there's no Christmas decoration because Saudi Arabia is a Muslim country that is why you can't see any sign of Christmas everywhere. I missed my family specially when Christmas time is coming our house is full of decorations. The lightings will add the solemnity of our home plus the music.

I've been listening to Christmas songs for quite a few months now..because one of my neighbors is always playing it every single day at 5:30 am to 6:0 in the morning. It's a bit irritating for the others since it wakes them u..but it's fine with me because I have to wake up early to go to school. Here in our country we start feeling the Christmas spirit on September or October..

I dislike this retirement center but its home f or now til my son gets that really great job and we can get money to move back into some apartment. I keep happy but to me Christmas belongs in December and its not celebrating Santa Claus but Christ instead. I love Christmas songs in December where they belong. Julyteen please do contact your loved ones so you will not feel so sad it will help honestly.

Yes I constantly contacted them every now and then to relieve my longing of their companionship. But still different if you are around with them and shared the happiness they have during Christmas time. Sorry for what happened to your family lately, I pray for your bright Christmas with your family and loveone's. See you around my beloved friend.

Some people start listening Christmas song when BER month is coming. I mean some start it on September until the end of December. Although it's early but it's nice to hear songs for this special season that Christians considered the most important celebration for the whole year.

Hi july teen: Even if I'm with my family right now I think it's too early for listening to the Christmas songs. I love them but I think that they are the music of the moment, so the best way to enjoy these song are, after the middle of December. I would love that people around me would do the same but the wouldn't .

Here in the Philippines, Christmas starts as soon as the 'ber' months kick in. Thus, whether you like it or not, you can't help but hear Christmas songs playing everywhere -- from the malls, to tv, to radio, etc. There are only a few selected Christmas songs that I like, but I'm not the type who goes out and buys Christmas CDs or downloads.

I usually don't start listening to Christmas songs until after Thanksgiving, since I'll be hearing them everywhere, I don't want to listen to them so much I'll be sick of them by Thanksgiving.

I don't know if the Christmas tree still be seen infront of Iligan City Hall same what the city government before. The city plaza also shows a very bright light every night. The place I always stay on everyday while I was still living in your place. Here in my recent place it seems everyday Christmas because of the light. Gasoline here is cheaper compared to water because they own it. Hope I can visit again Iligan next Christmas when I'll be back in the Philippines.

All my dumb friends have started singing Christmas songs in the shower, not out of holiday spirit but for the sake of being stupid, I guess. Whatever floats their boat. I don't usually listen to Christmas music purposely, though. If I hear it playing while I'm out and about, it can be nice.

Well, I know that this response is somewhat late. But I think my answer will still fit in. I have not listened to Christmas songs this last christmas. I am sorry to say that I did not feel any christmas at all. My father passed away, just a two weeks before christmas and I feel so sad. It is hard to be happy when deep inside you feel sad. I greeted Jesus, happy birthday and tried my best to have a christmas celebration. But as I have said, I did not feel much christmas in me. Listening to christmas song will surely add pain to myself for I know that it is the first christmas that my father is no longer with us....

I will start listening Friday. I had to hear a couple for a class assignment for my Early Childhood EDucation class. I had to write two of my favorite Christmas songs as a child. I love Christmas, but I do not play songs until the day after Thanksgiving because that is when my tree goes up. I did play a couple of songs for my husband just to tease him.

Errr...actually I didn't have to wait up until Christmas season to listen Christmas songs. I listen to it almost through out the year. Some of my relatives said I'm crazy because Christmas is long way to go. I don't care I just listen to it. But recently I listen to it almost everyday since early August. I listen to Jessica Simpson's Happy Christmas over and over again especially Here Comes Santa Claus / Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and My Only Wish.
